Former Arsenal star Wilshere admits he never expected to play in Championship after rejoining Bournemouth

The 29-year-old returned to the South Coast club three months after terminating his previous contract with West Ham Jack Wilshere has admitted he never imagined himself playing in the Championship, but he is relishing the challenge of helping Bournemouth win promotion back to the Premier League. The former Arsenal midfielder dropped down to the second tier to join the Cherries after terminating his contract with previous club West Ham in October. Wilshere says he could have seen out his £100,000-a-week deal with the Hammers but was desperate to rediscover his spark on the pitch rather than become a spectator off it.

Premier League investigates West Brom’s Robert Snodgrass omission against West Ham

Robert Snodgrass' omission from the West Brom squad beaten at West Ham on Tuesday is being investigated by the Premier League. The former Scotland midfielder, 33, joined Albion from the Hammers on 8 January for an undisclosed fee, making his debut in Saturday's win at Wolves. But he missed the West Ham game because of "an agreement between the clubs", West Brom boss Sam Allardyce said. The Premier League will examine whether competition rules have been broken. Under normal circumstances, Snodgrass would have been eligible to play against West Ham, as his transfer was permanent. It is only with loan deals that such restrictions apply in the Premier League - in those circumstances, a player cannot face their parent club. But Allardyce said: "We could only get the ...

Ozil Set To Terminate His Arsenal Contract And Move To Fenerbache

The 32-year-old still has half a season left on his Arsenal contract but both parties are in advanced talks which they expect to lead to an agreement to terminate it. That would pave the way for the move to Istanbul in the coming days. Ozil has not played for Arsenal since a 1-0 win over West Ham in March and has been frozen out by boss Mikel Arteta. He joined the club in a £42.4m move from Real Madrid in 2013 and helped them win the FA Cup three times. Ozil spoke of his admiration for the Turkish side during a social media question-and-answer session during the week. "Fenerbahce is like Real Madrid in Spain. The biggest club in the country," he told followers. Media reports in Turkey earlier this month claimed Fenerbahce would be signing Ozil in January. And when ...

Jack Grealish Accused Of ‘Embarrassing’ Dive In Aston Villa’s Controversial Loss To West Ham

Jack Grealish was accused of an 'embarrassing' dive during Aston Villa's 2-1 loss against West Ham on Monday night. Once again most people were left talking about VAR after West Ham's win, with Ollie Watkins late equaliser ruled out by the video officials by the barest of all margins. However, Grealish, who scored Villa's equaliser before Jarrod Bowen's winner, was also at the centre of some controversy, which spilled out into the manager's technical areas. In the second half the England international won a free-kick after a clash with Pablo Fornals, but the 25-year-old's delayed reaction caused outrage from fans on Twitter. There was tension between the two benches during the game as well, with both assistant managers getting booked for an argument, that it...

The Hammers last beat City in September 2015 but Michail Antonio's magnificent overhead kick gave them an 18th-minute lead. The uproar provoked by the Hammers letting one of their prized assets depart has generated column inches...but was that decision reasonable? When West Ham United sent prodigious talent Grady Diangana out on loan to West Bromwich Albion last season, the plan was for him to get gametime, gain valuable experience and return to the London Stadium ready to push for a place in the first team...or so we thought. In fairness, two of those wishes were met: the exciting winger played 30 times for the Albion as they regained promotion to the top flight after two years away, and was probably Slaven Bilic’s second-most-important attacker behind the mesmeric Matheus Pereira. The third hope for the 22-year-old academy graduate seemed to be a mere formality after an impressive campaign at The H...
