Bandits Kill 3 in Kauru Local Government of Kaduna State

A bandit attack at Kamaru village of Chawai Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has left no fewer than 3 people dead. It was learnt that the bandits shot the victims after an argument ensued after arriving the compound. Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan confirmed the incident and also disclosed that investigations indicate that the gunmen were criminals from a neighbouring state who crossed over into the village to carry out the heinous act. Aruwan said when troops responded to a distress call from the village, they found three persons dead and one injured.

10 newborn babies die in hospital fire, India

10 newborn babies have reportedly died in a fire outbreak at a state-run hospital in western India in the early hours of Saturday. 17 infants where in the unit for sick newborn babies when the fire broke out at the Bhandara District General Hospital in Maharashtra state. Seven infants died due to smoke suffocation, and three from burn injuries, Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope told reporters. Seven babies were rescued by the nurses and ward staff. Police Confirm Abduction of six Family Members in Zamfara

The Zamfara state police command has confirmed the abduction of six family members in the state. According to the state police spokesperson Shehu Mohammed, six of the abducted persons are children of Alhaji Gyare, while the seventh is a female picked from a neighbouring house all in Kadauri Village in Jabaka District of Maru LGA. Over Hundred (100) Kidnapped People Rescued in Katsina state

The Katsina government has announced that no fewer than 104 people kidnapped by bandits in the state have been rescued. Speaking after receiving a batch of 77 rescued persons escorted to the Katsina Government House by the heavily armed security operatives, Governor Aminu Masari said the government achieved this in collaboration with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies in the state. It has been claimed that the huge explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed over 100 people and injured more than 4,000, was caused by a welder at work. The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has said that 717 rape incidents have been reported to the police across the country from January-May this year alone.
