Storm Dennis Batters The United Kingdom (Photos)

Storm Dennis, one of the deepest low-pressure centres to have formed in recent years, has brought severe weather to Iceland and many western and central parts of the UK. Some of the regions now being affected by Dennis were also hit by a preceding storm, Ciara, which brought stronger winds than Dennis but less rain. Nevertheless, rivers were already full and the ground saturated before Dennis's arrival. The UK Met Office warned of rainfall totals of 50 to 100 millimetres in many areas. The military has been called in provide assistance in parts of northern England, where rivers have overflowed in recent days. Franklin Graham Event Cancelled Because He Views Gay Marriage A ‘Sin’

The Rev. Franklin Graham, an evangelist and the son of the late preacher Billy Graham, was slated to speak this summer at a venue in Liverpool. The venue, however, put a wrench into the plans by canceling the contract. Graham’s event, to be held at ACC Liverpool, was part of a larger tour through the United Kingdom. Officials at the venue, however, announced Friday the event would be scrubbed from the schedule because Graham’s views — particularly his biblical interpretation of marriage as a union between one man and one woman — are “incompatible with our values.” Thankfully, for all those who planned on attending in Liverpool, The Graham Tour UK organizers told Faithwire they are still planning on holding the event in the city, though a new venue has yet to be determined.
