At least fourteen persons were killed in an accident along Lokoja-Obajana road in Kogi State on Wednesday afternoon, January 6. It was gathered that the accident involved a bus and a truck conveying cement from Obajana occurred at Old Akpata village. According to an eye witness account, the accident occurred as a result of dangerous overtaking by the driver of the bus that was heading to Kabba. Two women have died after a container fell from a truck and landed on a commercial bus at Odo Olowu area, Ijesha bus-stop in Lagos on Friday, August 21. 5 dead, 2 Injured in Enugu Road Accident – FRSC

At least 5 people lost their lives and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu said the accident occurred on Friday, July 10, at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station. He said there were two injured people at the scene and FRSC officials took them to the hospital. He added that the accident was caused by wrong overtaking by a green Toyota Sienna. Truck Driver Drowns In Osun River After He Slipped And Fell Inside

According to Saturday PUNCH, a truck driver, identified simply as Sheriff, Friday evening drowned in River Osun in Ogberin village, Ede, Osun State, when he slipped and fell into the river. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) says its operatives intercepted a truck loaded with about 30 Almajiris at Joju area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state. The IVECO truck with Registration number -Kano XG172 KNG, was meant to be carrying only goods and was covered with a tarpaulin. Drama As Niger State Send Back Truck Filled With Lagos Returnees

A truck filled with over 50 persons has been turned back by Niger’s Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane. Dangote truck kills family of four in Kano State

  A truck belonging to Dangote Group of Companies on Sunday crushed four family members to death at Gaida community in Kano metropolis. Mob Sets Truck Ablaze In Ogun

A mob of residents in the Ota on Saturday set a truck ablaze at the Old Toll Gate axis of the Lagos – Abeokuta Expressway in the state. This followed an accident involving the truck and two other vehicles, which affected 17 people. Officials of the Ogun State Fire Service later arrived at the scene to put out the fire. A policeman was crushed to death by a speeding truck along Owerri-Okigwe expressway in Imo State on Wednesday February 12. The deceased who was identified as Paul Nwachukwu, was attached to silver highway patrol team operating within the Atta area of Ikeduru local government area of the state. Nigeria's foremost automaker, Innoson Motors has joined the list of companies that produce and manufacture fire fighting truck. The truck which was nicknamed as IVM Fire Fighting Truck was displayed at the company's entrance for display early this morning. Tanker Explosion kills 10 Persons in Gombe

At least 10 people have been reportedly killed, after a petroleum tanker exploded at Bomala Bridge axis of Gombe, capital of Gombe. The incident which occurred early Saturday afternoon left several cars burnt. The Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team has arrested two Ghanaian thieves who kill victims with acid after robbing them of their possessions. The Force spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood, confirmed the arrest to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, stressing that the suspects carried out the crime in Edo on December 9, but they were arrested in Enugu State, News Agency of Nigeria reports. 24-Hour Curfew Imposed On Kaduna By El-Rufai

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Kaduna by the Governor of the State, Nasir El-Rufai following the crisis which broke out in the state. The announcement of the 24-hour curfew was conveyed in a statement, signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan. It was further gathered that soldiers have taken over the streets of Kaduna metropolis on Sunday after protests broke out in some parts of the state. Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday urged the Federal Government to ensure that seaports in other parts of the country become functional to decongest Apapa port and ease gridlock. Between 8.30pm & 9pm on Tuesday, a truck veered off its track, falling off the flyover at Ojuelegba, Lagos and landing on pedestrians and vehicles. Truck Hits Arik Plane In Lagos, Another Grounded In Owerri

Passengers on two aircraft belonging to Nigeria’s largest airline, Arik Air, had their flights disrupted on Sunday following incidences at the Lagos and Owerri airports. Police Arrest Man, Woman For Hijacking N2.7m Beer

Police in Ogun State have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged hijacking of a truck-load of lager beer on the highway. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta, said the stolen beer worth N2,714,000. Oyeyemi said that the goods were stolen from Osun State by gun-wielding robbers and recovered at Ode-Remo in Ogun State.
