NFF Rubbishes CNN Report on Its Inability to Sponsor Super Eagles’ Trip to Zambia
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), on Wednesday night, dismissed reports by CNNthat it was unable to foot the bills of the national football team, Super Eagles, for their World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
The Super Eagles will play the Zambian national team on October 9 in Ndola, Zambia, as they push to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
CNN had cited Nigerian newspaper, The Guardian as its source which in turn quoted an unnamed NFF official as saying that the football federation was cash-strapped.
The unnamed Glass House official was quoted to have said: “We need about N85 million to take care of the match against Zambia on October 9, but as we speak, we don’t have any kobo in our purse. We have appealed to Globacom to come to our aid by footing th...
