NDLEA Intercepts 1.6 Kilograms Of Controlled Drugs En-route Turkey

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Special Area Command, has intercepted 1.6 kilogramme of controlled drugs suspected to be Tramadol and Flunitrazepam. The Head of Public Affairs, NDLEA, Mr Jonah Achema, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja. Achema said that the drugs, which were destined for Istanbul, Turkey, barely a few days after the resumption of international flights, was an unusual drug trafficking trend. A student of the University of Lagos has died after allegedly taking some cocaine and Tramadol at a party. It has been reported that a 200 Level student of the University of Lagos has died. The young man identified as Dennis Mkpanam aka Daddy.linkup, died after allegedly overdosing on Tramadol and codeine. Local reports show that Dennis, an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science student was said to have taken the illicit combination while hanging out with some friends, yesterday. 21-Year-Old Man Dies After Consuming “Gutter Water” In Lagos

A Nigerian man simply identified as Kenneth, has died after overdosing on an illicit drug combination called “gutter water” at a hotel in Ikorodu, Lagos. It was gathered that “gutter water” is a combination of codeine, refnol, tramadol, cannabis and water or juice. The 21 year old, who is epileptic, took the drug on Saturday at Durak hotel and immediately started having seizures. Science Student: Man Tied Up After Overdosing On Tramadol In Lagos

A man had to be taken to a hospital after overdosing on Tramadol on Sunday in Lagos. The “science student” went berserk after taking excess of the opioid pain medication in a fruitless attempt to get high.  He had to be restricted by being tied up by people around as he behaved strangely in public. Water was poured on him and food (garri) given to him as those who tied him up did all they could to bring him back from the “excited state”. According to an online user, the young man was later taken to the general hospital in Lagos where he was treated.

RRS Nabs Father, Son For Selling Hard Drugs To School Pupils

The operatives of Rapid Response squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested father and son for selling Tramadol and other hard drugs to primary and secondary school pupils in Itire, Lagos. The father, Ibrahim Sheu (40) and Franku Ibrahim (23) were arrested on Friday after officials of the Office of Education and Quality Assurance, Lagos State, alerted the Rapid Response Squad officers about the incident. The suspects, who are petty traders at a kiosk in Adedeji Bus stop, Itire, Lagos were caught selling the drugs to school pupils. Some of the pupils were later interrogated and released to their parents. Two trucks fully loaded with tramadol have been intercepted says the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC. The Director-General of NAFDAC, Moji Adeyeye, disclosed this at the public launch of drug related health policies and guidelines in Abuja on Monday, Punch Newspaper reports. Ms. Adeyeye, a professor, said the impounded tramadol would have been sold to youth. Tramadol is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.
