Femi Fani-Kayode Is Joining APC To Campaign For Tinubu, Jonathan – MASSOB

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Wednesday said it was certain that former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode had concluded his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC. MASSOB in a statement made available to DAILY POST, described the move as an act of betrayal on the part of the former minister. The statement signed by Comrade Uchenna Madu, Leader of MASSOB, said Fani-Kayode took the decision in order to enable him campaign for APC, leader, Bola Tinubu. Ever since the former minister visited APC leaders, speculations are rife that he is on his way out of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Why Tinubu Is Afraid – Emmanuel Aziken

After dithering procrastination the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has pledged to commence the planned validation and registration of party members next week. Ever since the plan was first revealed last year it has remained a source of acrimony among party members struggling over the soul of the party. The struggle first consumed Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who was shoved out as national chairman last year. Reflective of the viciousness in the struggle, those against Oshiomhole and his group ensured that the party’s candidate in the 2020 governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu lost in the Edo State governorship election. Ize-Iyamu, who by many accounts ‘won the 2016’ contest despite being in the opposition at the time was soundly...

Herdsmen: Tinubu Silent Because He Does Not Want To Offend Buhari – Adebanjo

A leader of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, says a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, is afraid to speak on the Fulani herdsmen crisis in parts of the South-West region because he does not want to offend the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). Adebanjo spoke on Wednesday on a PUNCH Online interview programme, The Roundtable. According to him, Tinubu has not condemned the attacks by Fulani herdsmen against the Yoruba people because of his presidential ambition in 2023. The Afenifere chieftain said Tinubu believes that Buhari will help him become the next president of the country. Of late, Fulani herdsmen have been accused of perpetrating crimes ranging from kidnappings, killings, rape to invasion of farmland...

PDP Tells Tinubu, El-Rufai, Amaechi, Others To Speak Out On Restructuring

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to speak out on President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to go back on their party’s campaign promise of implementing an administrative restructuring for better governance of the country. The PDP also tasked the APC leaders to respond to their members in the senate who, through their spokesperson, Senator Ajibola Basiru, have declared that restructuring, as promised by APC, is only a “slogan.” The Presidency had on Thursday, asked prominent Nigerians agitating for restructuring of the country to channel their demands to the National Assembly. But the opposition party in a statement on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, asked the APC bigwigs to give...

2023: Disunity In South-West May Truncate Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition

As the clamour for presidency to return to the South in 2023 continues to reverberate across the country, some stakeholders have opined that the ambition of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may be frustrated just like that of M.K.O Abiola in 1993, if Yoruba people continue to speak in discordant tunes. The feeling was expressed yesterday at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, venue of the 2021 Pan-Yoruba Summit themed “Yoruba Nation: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” The summit was organised by the Yoruba Patriots Movement (YPM) led by Chief Oladosu Oladipo. In attendance were some dignitaries including the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Sanwo Olu, who was represented by Engr. Adekunle Olayinka (Special Ad...

Ojo, an associate professor of Comparative Politics, who was Chief of Staff (COS) to former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, stated this in an interview with The Guardian in Ibadan, Oyo State. Bode George also advises former Governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande not to engage in fruitless pleading sessions for a man who is fixated on a warped pipe-dream about governing Nigeria. “The visit of Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Dr Yomi Finnih, and Chief Segun Osoba to the seat of power in Abuja is needless, unnecessary, veiled in some poorly hidden agenda that is woven in apparently self-serving ulterior personalised desperation. He made this known in a statement on Sunday titled, ‘The #EndSARS protests; a fundamental lesson in democratic governance’. Hoodlums had massively looted shops and set fire to several public and private properties, including Television Continental and The Nation newspaper, both of which have been linked to him. Mr Obaseki, other APC governors, and some ministers from the South-South had put in all their political might in a plot to remove Mr Oshiomhole before the commencement of the party governorship primaries. And, of course, that appeared to be the safest route for Mr Obaseki to easily pick the APC ticket to run for a second term as Edo governor after a once-promising relationship between him and Mr Oshiomhole became horribly sour.
