EPL: Thomas Tuchel Told Chelsea Must Finish Top Four to Avoid Sack

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, will sack the club’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, this summer if the German does not finish in the Premier League top-four. This claim was made by former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Tim Sherwood. Tuchel was only appointed as Chelsea manager last month following the sack of Frank Lampard. The former Paris Saint-Germain boss signed an 18-month contract at Stamford Bridge. However, Sherwood believes Tuchel will not last beyond this season if he does not qualify Chelsea for next season’s UEFA Champions League. “I think Tuchel has come with a reputation, but no matter what his reputation says, he has to win,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions. “I think he signed a very short-term contract. If he wants to stay at the club, he’s going to ...

‘Bale more likely to move to China than the Premier League’ – former Tottenham boss Sherwood

The Real Madrid attacker has been heavily linked with a summer transfer after spending six years at the Santiago Bernabeu Gareth Bale is more likely to move to China in the summer than return to the Premier League, according to former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood. Bale left Spurs in 2013 to join Real Madrid in a then world-record transfer and he has won four Champions League titles during his time in the Spanish capital. However, he has also struggled with injuries and, when fit, he has been regularly left out of the starting line-up since Zinedine Zidane's return as coach to fuel speculation Bale will be leaving the club this summer.

Tottenham Have Overtaken Arsenal As North London’s Best – Tim Sherwood

Tottenham have overtaken Arsenal as north London’s dominant force, former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood says. Spurs finished above their local rivals for the first time in 22 years last season, a 2-0 derby win in April breaking the curse of ‘St Totteringham’s’ and helping prevent the Gunners from reaching the top four. Despite stuttering form at home after swapping White Hart Lane for Wembley, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have a four-point advantage over Arsenal ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Emirates Stadium. Sherwood believes that his former club have now left Arsene Wenger’s side in their wake, and sees no reason why they cannot be the team to chase down runaway leaders Manchester City, who are eight points clear ahead of the Premier League’s return this weekend. “[It is] definitely...

Aston Villa Not A Step Down For John Terry – Ex-Manager

Former Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has told John Terry he will not be going to a smaller club if he heads for Villa Park. Villa is one of several possible destinations for the vastly-experienced and much-decorated defender as he contemplates life after Stamford Bridge. Speculation has been mounting about Terry joining Villa after he was pictured playing golf with manager Steve Bruce. One of Bruce’s predecessors, Sherwood told Sky Sports HQ: “I think both would be married up very well. “John’s an excellent professional, not only in what he will bring on the pitch, but what he will bring to the dressing room. “He will make other players around him better. They need some leaders there and certainly there are no bigger leaders than John Terry. “Every club needs those charac...
