EFCC has recovered property and cash worth N2.273 billion from Governor Ayodele Fayose, ex-Deputy Governor Iyiola Omisore and a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, out of the N4.685 billion allocated to them by the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA). ‘Empty Containers Occupy Over 40% Of Lagos Ports’

Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director Ms Hadiza Bala Usman has ordered terminal operators at the Lagos ports to declare the number of empty containers there. Over 40 per cent of the space at the ports is believed to be occupied by empty containers. Telecoms Sector Attracts $68bn Foreign Investment – NCC

The Nigerian telecoms sector has attracted $68 billion to the economy in Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, said Tuesday. The NCC Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Umar Dambatta, said this at a sensitisation workshop in Lagos, The Nation newspaper reported. MORE cash believed to be part of the London-Paris Club loan refund has been found by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The US$86,546,526.65 was remitted into the account of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF). The account is said to have been depleted to about $17million as at the time the probe started. Diezani: Why I Returned N9.08b To EFCC, By Bank Chief

AN Executive Director of First Bank Plc, Dauda Lawal, has accused Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of falsifying the circumstances under which he surrendered N9.08 billion to the commission. EFCC had urged the Federal High Court in Lagos to order the forfeiture of the money allegedly laundered for former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke. But Lawal, in a counter-affidavit filed in opposition to EFCC’s prayers, said there was a desperate bid by the commission to obtain an order of forfeiture from the court.
