101-year-old Grandma Survives COVID-19 In Osun

A 101-year-old grandma has been discharged from Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, Osun State after she recovered from COVID-19. The grandma was on admission in a private hospital for treatment before the medical personnel of the hospital noticed she was showing some symptoms of COVID-19 like the acute onset of cough breathlessness, fever and malaria before she was transferred to OAUTHC. These disclosures were made in a statement by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Ile-Ife, Prof Victor Adetiloye, on Thursday to newsmen. Tambuwal Survives, Narrowly Defeats APC In Sokoto

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scored the highest votes the Sokoto State governorship election after polling a total of 512,002 from both the March 9 first ballot and yesterday’s supplementary election. Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came close behind with 511,661, losing to his erstwhile principal with just 341votes. Mr Aliyu was Mr Tambuwal’s deputy governor. Both men were of the APC until Mr Tambuwal defected to the PDP. The results of all the local governments where supplementary elections were held in Sokoto have now been announced at the state collation centre. A final declaration by INEC that Mr Tambuwal has won the election is expected any minute from now.

A newborn baby has been miraculously dug out of a shallow grave after being buried alive for 8 hours in Canarana, Brazil. The tot was born around midday to a 15-year-old girl. Two Brothers Die, Sister Survives After They Were Hacked & Thrown Into A Well By Fulani Herdsmen

10 year old Wuese Yaku, along with her two elder brothers were attacked by Fulani herdsmen at Mbanev, Imbesev, Yaav ward of Turan in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. According to Apiah Ephraims, the Senior Special Assistant on Media at Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) the herdsmen hacked the siblings with machete and threw them into a well The young girl survived the gruesome attack. With deep cuts on the neck and hands, she managed to crawl out of the well and was found by some residents while attempting to find her way home. She is currently recuperating in a local hospital.
