38-year-old Nigerian para powerlifter and Paralympic gold medalist, Esther Oyema has been handed a 4 year ban for violating the anti-doping rules. In a statement released on Wednesday May 20, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said Oyema will be disqualified from all IPC’s competitions from May 3, 2019 to May 2, 2023. “SARS Officials Dragged Me Unclad With My Manhood, Took N30k Before Releasing Me”

A victim of police brutality has said that he paid N 30, 000 to the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad last Thursday to secure his freedom when he was arrested on trumped-up charge of possessing Indian hemp. A suspected rapist was mercilessly whipped in front of angry residents for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Bayelsa state. It was gathered that the young man lured the child into his bedroom after she begged him for money. He reportedly asked her to come into his room to get the money and she agreed not knowing that he had ulterior motive. Immediately she entered, he pounced on girl and raped her.
