240 Fresh Cases of COVID19 Recorded in Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC says 240 new cases of COVID19 have were recorded in Nigeria on Sunday, February 28. Accoridng to the statistics released by the agency, Anambra had 85 fresh cases while Lagos recorded 82 fresh cases. Other states with fresh cases include Osun-17, Ogun-10, Kwara-9, FCT-8, Kano-7, Abia-6, Borno-4, Edo-2, Bayelsa-2, Kaduna-2 and Rivers-1. Nigeria now has 155,657 confirmed cases. 133,768 patients have been successfully treated and discharged while 1,907 deaths have so far been recorded. Nigeria’s Inflation Hits 16.47%, Highest Since April 2017

The Consumer Price Index which measures inflation in the country increased to 16.47% in January 2021, as revealed in data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday February 16. While this is the highest point since April 2017, the new report also revealed that food inflation rose to 20.57 per cent in January while core inflation, which excludes the price of volatile agricultural produce stood at 11.85%. China’s economy grows 4.9% amid covid-19 pandemic

Nigeria’s total merchandise trade increased by 39.31 per cent to N32.26 trillion (year on year) in 2018 compared to N23.16 trillion in 2017, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
