Oil Tanker Explodes in Lagos

A tanker explosion has occurred on both lanes around Toyota bus-stop inwards Mile 2, along Oshodi-Apapa expressway. The tanker was fully loaded with fuel at the time it exploded. Fire service arrived at the scene to put out the fire. Giving an update on Twitter moments later, the Federal Fire Service said, "Update:The tanker fire situation at Toyota Bus stop, along Oshodi Apapa Expressway, Lagos State has been brought under control."

Tanker goes up in flames on Magboro Bridge outward Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (video)

A fuel tanker caught fire on the Magboro Bridge outward the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.   The incident happened early Wednesday, Dec 2, and caused gridlock at the location.       According to reports, the fuel being conveyed by the tanker had spilled to the other side of the expressway, leading inward to Lagos.   Firefighters have arrived at the scene of the fire outbreak.   Commuters have been advised to take alternate routes or cancel their trips.

Man charged with murdering rapper 21 Savage’s brother, Terrell Davis

A man has been charged with murdering US rapper 21 Savage's half-brother in south London.   Terrell Davis, who performed as TM1way, was stabbed to death in Ramilles Close in Brixton Hill, south London on November 22.   Davis was reportedly taking some shopping to his grandmother when he got into an argument with an old friend, who suddenly lunged forward and stabbed him, a family source said.   He was found suffering from a stab wound just before 6pm last night. European Union releases statement on the shooting of unarmed End SARS protesters in Nigeria

Josep Borrell, the High Representative/Vice-President of the European Union, has released a statement regarding the shooting of unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate.   On the evening of October 20, 2020, security operatives opened fire on unarmed End SARS protesters who were singing the National Anthem at the Lekki toll gate. A suspect in the murder case of Serge Aurier's brother has handed himself in to French police. The Tottenham star's brother, Christopher Aurier was shot dead on Monday morning July 13, in an alleged "love dispute" and a man turned himself into cops on Tuesday evening. The suspect who cannot be named because of French privacy laws is being held after admitting to murdering the 26-year-old, according to French outlet L'Equipe. 5 dead, 2 Injured in Enugu Road Accident – FRSC

At least 5 people lost their lives and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu said the accident occurred on Friday, July 10, at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station. He said there were two injured people at the scene and FRSC officials took them to the hospital. He added that the accident was caused by wrong overtaking by a green Toyota Sienna. He said the wrong overtaking led to a head on collision with a truck loaded with fertiliser. All 5 occupants of the Toyota Sienna died. The driver of the truck and his conductor were the two injured people who were taken to the hospital.

Death Toll from Abule Ado Explosion Rises to 21

The death toll from the explosion that rocked the Abule Ado area of Lagos state last Sunday March 15th, has risen to 21. Another body was recovered from the scene of the incident on Thursday evening March 19th. Eight Year-Old Boy Dies In A Well In Kano

An eight-year-old boy, Ahmed Isyaku, has died after falling into a well at Kadebawa in Garko Local Government Area of Kano State. The spokesman of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, made the disclosure in Kano on Tuesday. Mohammed said that the incident occurred on Monday evening when the deceased went to fetch water. “We received a distress call from one Malam Tijjani Ayuba at about 5:05 p.m. “On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 5:40 p.m. “Ahmed was found dead and his corpse was handed over to his father, Malam Isyaku, of Kadebawa village,” he added.

Fire Guts Apongbon Market in Lagos

The popular Apongbon market in Lagos Island was gutted by fire on Sunday morning. The Ebute Ero Underbridge section of the market went up in flames around 10:45pm. Shops and property were affected and efforts are on to stop the spread. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. The incident occurred a few weeks after the fire outbreak at the popular Balogun Market in Lagos. Mob Sets Truck Ablaze In Ogun

A mob of residents in the Ota on Saturday set a truck ablaze at the Old Toll Gate axis of the Lagos – Abeokuta Expressway in the state. This followed an accident involving the truck and two other vehicles, which affected 17 people. Officials of the Ogun State Fire Service later arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The accident, which left seven people killed and 10 others injured, occurred in the morning as a result of speed and brake failure on the part of the truck. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the injured victims have been taken to the hospital while the bodies of the dead people have been removed to the morgue. Suspect dead, 2 Officers Injured in Shooting at Walmart in Forrest city, Arkansas

At least two Forrest City police officers were shot and a suspect was killed inside a Walmart in Forrest City, Arkansas. Lt. Eric Varner and Detective Eugene Watlington were shot when they responded to complaints that a man was threatening people. When the officers arrived, the man pulled out a gun and shot both officers. Watlington was shot several times and was taken to a Memphis hospital where he was then taken into surgery, while Varner went to the hospital in Forrest City and was conscious and talking at the scene. A building in Ketu Lagos was engulfed in flames this evening.   The building, located at Ile-Ile bus stop, opposite Delta Crown in Ketu Lagos State had a huge crowd gathered in front of it as they helplessly looked at the house getting burnt. A barman said to be the chief mastermind of last week's foiled robbery of a branch of First Bank in the Mpape area of Abuja has been arrested.
