The early morning downpour in Lagos has resulted in heavy flooding, causing traffic on major roads. Tshegofatso Pule, 28, a South African woman who was 8-months-pregnant, was found Monday, June 8, hanging from a tree with a stab wound to her chest in South Africa. Bandits Kill 21 in Zamfara Village

Gunmen who struck in some villages in Maru and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, left 21 people dead and 12 others injured. Spokesman of the state police command, Mohammed Shehu confirmed the attacks in Tungar Malan, Manyan Karaje, Tungar Arne, Dangodon Maiyakane, Dangodon Mai Masallaci and Boleke villages in Maru Local Government between the 2nd and 3rd of June, 2020. Nigeria Records First Negative Trade Balance Since June 2016

Nigeria has recorded its first quarterly trade deficit since July 2016 as the value of its export fell by 9.79 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2019. According to the National Bureau of Statistics in its latest Foreign Trade in Goods Statistics report, Nigeria recorded a fall in export while imports surged by 37.20 per cent. The report released on Friday, said the value of Nigeria’s total trade rose by 10.15 per cent to N10.12tn in Q4 2019 over the value recorded in Q3. Five members of staff of Okomu Oil plc, in Edo State were on Friday evening burnt to death in a road crash that occurred along Benin/Iguobazuwa road, in Ovia South-West local government area of the State. The accident occurred when the bus conveying the victims from Extension 2 farm of the firm to the head office of the company at Okomu community, rammed into a lorry that crossed the road. NECO Releases Nov/Dec 2019 SSCE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has published the results of candidates, who sat for their November/December 2019 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for external candidates. This was announced by Mohammed Gana, the Acting Registrar of the Council on Thursday. In a statement, Gana stated that the results are available 49 days after the last paper was written. A total of 65,207 candidates sat for English language, out of which 41,214, representing 63% got either Distinction or Credit. 66,398 candidates sat for Mathematics, out of which 54,565, representing 82.18% got either Distinction or Credit. 17-people were killed in an auto-crash on Thursday, August 22nd at Bacita junction, on Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa expressway in Kwara State.   The accident involved an 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus and an articulated DAF trunk carrying container.
