Beijing Reports Dozens of new COVID-19 Cases Amid Fears of a Second Wave

Beijing has recorded 36 new locally-transmitted Coronavirus cases, amid fears of a second wave in the Chinese capital. Officials said on Monday June 15, that they traced the cases to a major wholesale food market after almost two infection-free months. Another 36 cases were also recorded on Saturday. The country's Vice Premier Sun Chunlan called on officials to take "decisive measures", warning that the risk of further spread remained high. The general manager of the market has been dismissed, along with other local officials. Three other provinces, Liaoning, Hebei, and Sichuan have also reported confirmed or suspected cases connected to Beijing. Coronavirus: State House coverage restricted to 13 media houses by Presidency

Coverageof the state house has been restricted to only 13 media houses as confirmed in a statement released by the Director of Information at the State House, Mr Attah Esa. The Presidency maintained that it scaled down the number of media house covering meetings at the villa in compliance with the “social distancing” rule and ban on public gathering of more than 50 people. An Eighty-five-year old woman identified as Ilione Victoria, has died after she allegedly jumped from the balcony of an apartment on the 3rd floor of a four storey building where she stayed with her daughter at No 18 Ilodibe Street, Awada, Anambra state on Tuesday March 17th. Emergency officials have begun to evacuate the affected buildings following the fire outbreak at the popular Balogun market in Lagos. The incident which occurred on Wednesday affected eight buildings while three structures have caved in so far. Lagos State Government Bans Okadas, Tricyles and Others From Operating in Parts of the State

The Lagos State Government has banned the activities of motorcycle riders popularly known as Okada riders and tricycle riders in six Local Government Areas (LGAs), nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) and 10 major highways across the State. Also banned are ride hailing services, OPay and GOkada.
