A Federal High Court in Benin City has restrained Dangote Industries and the Nigerian Police Force from interfering with BUA Group’s operations of the disputed Okpella mining sites in Okpella, Edo State in a judgement it delivered recently. Edo 2020: Court Restrains Self From Further Hearing Of Suit Challenging Direct Primaries

The Federal High Court sitting in Benin has restrained itself from further hearing of the suit challenging the decision of the APC NWC to hold direct primaries to pick its candidate for the Edo State Governoship election. Recall that the court on Monday, June 8th adjourned hearing on the suit to today, 11th June. The suit was instituted by a group loyal to the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki. The suit sought to stop the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for June 22nd as Obaseki insisted on the party having indirect primaries. OANDO: Court Restrains SEC From Removing Wale Tinubu, Omamofe Boyo

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has restrained the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from removing Wale Tinibu as Oando Plc’s Chief Executive Officer, Igbere TV reports. The court also restrained the SEC from removing Omamofe Boyo as the Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Igbere TV learnt that Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Lagos High Court granted the interim injunction following an application by the embattled CEO and DCEO. A state high court in Yola has barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting the supplementary governorship election for which it scheduled March 23 in Adamawa State. The Adamawa State High Court, presided by Justice Abdulaziz Waziri, granted an interim injunction barring INEC from conducting the supplementary polls in the 44 polling units where voting either did not hold during the March 9 governorship election or was cancelled The high court judgement was sequel to a suit filed by the governorship candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRRD), Rev Eric Theman, who questioned non-inclusion of his party logo for the governorship election by INEC.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Osun state governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday obtained a court order, restraining the police from arresting him. Adeleke had approached a High Court of Justice in Ejigbo, Osun State, after the Police accused him of engaging in examination malpractice and summoned him.
