A Federal High Court in Benin City has restrained Dangote Industries and the Nigerian Police Force from interfering with BUA Group’s operations of the disputed Okpella mining sites in Okpella, Edo State in a judgement it delivered recently. The Federal High Court sitting in Benin has restrained itself from further hearing of the suit challenging the decision of the APC NWC to hold direct primaries to pick its candidate for the Edo State Governoship election. Recall that the court on Monday, June 8th adjourned hearing on the suit to today, 11th June. The suit was instituted by a group loyal to the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has restrained the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from removing Wale Tinibu as Oando Plc’s Chief Executive Officer, Igbere TV reports. The court also restrained the SEC from removing Omamofe Boyo as the Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer. A state high court in Yola has barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting the supplementary governorship election for which it scheduled March 23 in Adamawa State. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Osun state governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday obtained a court order, restraining the police from arresting him. Adeleke had approached a High Court of Justice in Ejigbo, Osun State, after the Police accused him of engaging in examination malpractice and summoned him.
