A fire incident occurred at the presidential villa on Thursday June 4 as confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. Shehu said the fire occurred at a store near the State House Chapel in the Presidential Villa on Thursday afternoon. He described it as a minor incident and also linked it to an electrical spark. It said on the 31st of May 2020, 307 new confirmed cases were recorded and the death toll has now reached 287. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours. President Buhari Orders Ministers To Handover To Perm Secs On Or Before 28 May

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all outgoing ministers to handover their portfolios on the 28th of May, 2019. He gave the directive during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) valedictory session at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday. He said that the valedictory FEC meeting was the last for the outgoing cabinet before the inauguration of his second term on the 29th of May. He added that they should continue working in their capacity till Tuesday 28th of May, 2019. Handover notes, he said, should be submitted to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. All the 31 ministers in the Council chamber took turns to thank the President for finding them worthy of the appointment in the past three and half years.
