In her words, “I made my first money from Brand Influencing on Instagram by December 2018, barely 5 months after I started my journey as a brand influencer. I remember clearly, I was paid N15,000 (Fifteen thousand naira) to make a promotion video for a brand.”

Amarachi Amusi

“You can’t be a successful brand-influencer if you are not dramatic, if you stay indoors a lot, brand influencing is not for you”.

No Passengers Abducted Along Damaturu-Biu Road– Here’s What Really Happened

The attention of Headquarters Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, was drawn to fake news on Vanguard newspaper website and other social media platforms alleging that suspected Boko Haram terrorists have abducted unspecified passengers plying Damaturu-Bia road yesterday.

This is not true as there is no such incidence in the north east, let alone in the mentioned road.

NO PASSENGERS ABDUCTED ALONG DAMATURU-BIU ROAD - Here’s what really happened lailasnews

What the medium misconstrued was that, as part of our routine measures to curb the criminal activities of Boko Haram terrorists and ensure safety and security of all residents and commuters, troops carry out routine patrols, checks and ambushes.

This often necessitated the temporary closure of the roads.

What happened in morning of 1st February 2019 was that there was reported suspected movement of Boko Haram terrorists and the troops swung into action. In order to avoid likely collateral damages, the troops temporarily halted vehicles movement. However, the road was immediately reopened after the routine military operation.

Members of the public and the good people of Yobe state, particularly motorist and travelers plying that route, are to discountenance the report and go about their lawful daily activities, as our troops are working round the clock to ensure the protection of lives and property of members of the public, especially on our roads.

We wish to reiterate that journalists should endeavour to always cross check their information with the relevant security agencies before publishing.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Brilliance at The Platform Lagos Debates: How Social Media Responded.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the APC Governorship Candidate for Lagos went up against Jimi Agbaje, the PDP Candidate for Lagos, Babajide Gbadamosi, the ADP candidate for Lagos and Owolabi Salis the AD candidate for Lagos at the Lagos Gubernatorial debate organised by The Platform Nigeria, a creation of Pastor Poju Oyemade’s Convenant Christian Centre.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Brilliance at The Platform Lagos Debates How Social Media Responded lailasnews 2

Arriving at the venue of the debate early, he posted a selfie with the hashtags on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram #SanwoOluDebates and #ThePlatformDebates which a tweet from his handle a few hours ago had started a trend across Social Media. The selfie post received thousands of likes, comments and retweets across the different social media platforms.

Dressed in a white native attire, Babajide Sanwo-Olu immediately started the debate strong answering a question from the debate moderator Dr. Victor Oladokun about what he had done that qualified him to be the Governor of Lagos with his impressive resume in the private and public sector.

He spoke about how 17 years in the private sector and 13 years in the government managing different key portfolios like Budget and Planning; Commerce and Industry; and Establishments, Training and Pensions have prepared him to drive fiscal governance, manage an important relationship with the private sector and ensure growth and development of the civil service.

He also talked about his experience creating PPP housing projects as Managing Director of the Lagos State Development Property Corporation which prepared him to manage housing and other social projects required to make Lagos a 21st century economy. The other contestants who had minimal experience in the private sector and zero experience in the public sector tried to focus their answers on what they would do rather than what they had done.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu went on to answer questions about what he would do during his first 100 days of office; how he would solve transportation issues in Lagos; how he would stop the brain drain in the health sector, how he would communicate with the private sector and the population; ensuring accountability in government financing; external influence in government and finally gave promises he would fulfill to Lagosians in his first year.

He talked about resolving the Apapa gridlock, getting trailers off the streets of Lagos, setting up of a strong cabinet, fixing of potholes, and installation of traffic lights, assessment of teachers training needs, driving enrolment in the Lagos Health Insurance Scheme and other low hanging fruits he would tackle in his first 100 days of office.

On government openness, he talked about how the Lagos government presents its budgets on time and also carries out quarterly reviews. He talked about how his administration would take that to the next level.

He spoke about how his experience training over 1000 teachers as commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions had given him an idea of the needs of the entire civil service and also how he planned to integrate technology into teacher training and the education development curriculum for Lagos.

Making a promise for the next 4 years, he spoke about the great plans he had for building a greater Lagos and how he wanted Lagosians to hold him responsible for those promises during the election cycle.

He had what may have been one of his greatest moments close to the end of the debate when asked about external influences by confidently stating, “I Am My Own Man”. He cited family governance with the high flying performance of his wife and family; education discipline with his constant quest for knowledge and his integrity in government as evidence that he would be fully accountable to Lagosians in the next 4 years.

In a post event message on social media, he thanked the conveners of the platform and Lagosians for the opportunity to present his plans for a greater Lagos. He talked about how excited he was and how important it was for Lagos to continue to take the lead like this. He went further using the hashtag #JideSanwoOluDebates and #ThePlatformDebates to reiterate some of the things he said at the debate.

Social Media Poses Threat To National Security – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says the lack of control over social media platforms poses a threat to national security.

Briefing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, the Minister revealed plans by the Ministry to launch a “massive national campaign” in support of the military, especially in their fight against insurgency and insecurity.

Social media poses threat to national security - Lai Mohammed lailasnews 2

He said the campaign, which would be similar to the previous ones launched by the Ministry on burning issues such as fake news and hate speech, insurgency and the fight against corruption, would mobilise Nigerians irrespective of their political leanings to show support for the military.

“I think it is high time that everybody, irrespective of political affiliation, joined in supporting the war (against insurgency). It’s not unusual, as a matter of fact it’s usually the practice, that when a country is faced with this kind of challenge, people will sink their differences and work together.”

He said the national campaign, which will be multi-faceted, would include the production and airing of special jingles on radio and television, social media interventions and advocacy.

The Minister alleged that opposition politicians have continued “wage a campaign of disinformation against the military on the social media”, saying such “unpatriotic acts”are capable discouraging and demoralizing the men and women in uniform.

“I think the biggest opposition probably today that the military has is probably not Boko Haram, it’s probably the social media because it’s so uncontrolled. Today, video clips are doctored and clips of happenings in other lands are now reported and sent out as if they are happening in Nigeria. Unfortunately, there is no one to hold responsible. This is very discouraging and it demoralizes the military

“That brings me to the bigger issue of overall support for our military. Recent developments are disturbing. The activities of a section of the media and some opposition political parties are demoralizing the military and strengthening the insurgents.

“Without seeking or waiting for official clarification, outrageous casualty figures are prominently reported. Without consideration for national security, military plans are recklessly revealed. Not even in the United States, the bastion of democracy, does this happen,” he said.

Lai said although the government would neither censor nor gag the media, journalists must strike a balance between the constitutionally-guaranteed freedom to receive and impart information and national security.

Woli Arole’s The Call’ Hits Cinemas Today

The journey of a thousand mile starts with a step. For Oluwatoyin Bayegun popularly known as Woli Arole, his journey into filmmaking started two years ago with him venturing into the entertainment scene as a sketch comedian promoting his art across various social media platforms.

So far, he has advanced to the status of producer with his debut film ‘The Call’ which premiered recently at the Filmhouse cinemas, Lekki, Lagos.

The James Abinibi directed comedic offering’s plot revolves around themes as purpose, dream, and vision.

Reprising his role as Woli Arole, he and his league of wealth thirsty friends embarked on a journey to pawn an antique clock which unfortunately spelled doom for the group and ultimately led to the manifestation of Arole’s clairvoyance.

The premiere’s ambience was one of warmth. Receiving the support of close friends and family, it turned into a momentous evening when his parent took to the red carpet to support their son’s work.

This support even goes beyond the poses on the platform as his mother also played a minor role in the movie. Also present to show support was fellow sketch comedian Frank Donga.

With a cast line-up that comprised Segun Arinze, Afeez Oyetoro, Kelvin Ikeduba, Yinka Quadri, Samuel Ajibola and Etinosa Idemudia, the peculiar idiosyncrasies that characterise the suburbs of Ibadan city was well represented in the movie; ranging from its multi-cultural diversities to the simple everyday life of its residence.

Confident that the film’s essence will capture the interest of comedy lovers around the country, Arole believes ‘The Call’ would attain a good level of success at the cinemas.

“It’s a call for me. I just felt I should something more than sketch. It is good when you start from something, but when you progress and evolve, so that is just me showing another part of me that people should enjoy.

“I have had the dream of shooting the movie ever since, but the whole process from Pre-production. Post-production and production have taken close to two years for me. I just wanted something different, something that people would not imagine Arole would do, and something that would have a message,” he said.

‘The Call’ will be available to the general public today across major cinemas.

The Minister of Communication and an aggrieved governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Adebayo Shittu, has vowed never to campaign or support his party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State.

Shittu, who contested the APC governorship primary in the state but was disqualified by the leadership of the party, said it would not make sense for him to “be defrauded out of a primary process and still simply behave like a slave” supporting the system that cheated.

He said that he is not going to beg the party to do the right time, adding that it is the party that “will certainly pay for it”.

He said: “I will be a bastard to be defrauded out of a party primary and behave as if I’m a slave. They asked us to pay N22 million (nomination form) and didn’t advertise any condition other than as provided in the constitution. After we have been screened and certified, the chairman of our party unilaterally and in violation of the constitution got me out of the way so that they can impose newcomers on the party. Somebody who was barely two months in the APC.

“You cannot expect me at my level to support such candidate. I believe I gave enough warning. Of course they had the opportunity and they missed it and the party will certainly pay for it.”

The minister said the reconciliation move by the party may not yield positive results if there was no commitment to right the wrongs done to party men.

He said it will not be possible for him to join in campaigning for the governorship candidate of APC in Oyo State after being defrauded at the primary election.

However, Shittu revealed that he and other aggrieved aspirants across the country are collaborating to float a coalition platform that will be used to campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection.

Speaking at an interactive session with journalists covering the APC in Abuja, the minister said it would amount to a fruitless exercise if the party feel it can achieve peace and reconciliation without correcting the anormalies that took place during the primaries.

“It is disheartening to say we must have peace even if there is no justice. As for me, I don’t recognise the candidate of APC in Oyo State. I’m in court and I believe I will triumph over those who were less than intelligent to foist a stranger on our party in Oyo State. You don’t expect me to support such a candidate. Before you talk of reconciliation, you must talk of restitution,” he said.

Denying media reports that he had closed down the Buhari Campaign Office he opened in Oyo State, Shittu said: “We had a rented apartment, the house in question wasn’t my property. We rented it and we simply couldn’t afford to sustain the rent and the landlord was impatient with us and said we either pay or get out of the place and we took the most sensible decision by vacating that premises.

“We are in the process of looking for another building which would be used for Gen. Buhari second term in office campaign, hopefully we would be able to get something cheaper than we had.”

‘Welcome to an Industry where Enmity Reigns Supreme’ – Comedian, AY Writes About Nollywood

A few days after actor, Kevin Ikeduba shared a video describing Nollywood as a place filled with fake people, Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, AY has come out to say the same thing.

And according to AY, its even worse that Kevin described. In his words, ‘its a backstabbing community where some pretend to love you in the open and condenm all your determination and efforts to succeed when you are not there’.

As a growing actor and a movie producer, NOLLYWOOD has exposed me to both the good, the bad and ugly.Barely few years in the industry, i have experienced all sorts from the stables of the high and mighty self entitled ‘stakeholders’, to the very insecured individuals whose only claim to fame is an old testament fact of “We started this industry”.

The above post by Kevin Ikeduba, has given me the courage to further introduce you to our Nollywood. So welcome to an industry where rivalry and fakeness is fast becoming a legacy designed for posterity. Welcome to a backstabbing community where some pretend to love you in the open and condenm all your determination and efforts to succeed when you are not there.

Welcome to an industry where enmity reigns supreme… Eg “If you are using her in the movie, then I can’t be on it”, or “i can’t be in your film and not play the lead role”. Welcome to an industry where some actors have more visible roles on Instagram and Red Carpets. Welcome to an industry where some would maintain a position that would make you keep to yourself rather than ask for a selfie.

Welcome to an industry where some cannot use their platforms to help another colleague to promote his or her work (including the ones they are contracted for). Welcome to an industry where most families mainly depend on public support when one of our own falls sick. Welcome to an industry where some engages themselves daily on WhatsApp groups chatting about how others have no business making movies (even when they break their own records back to back).

Moving the industry forward goes beyond seeking for the downfall of others, or basking in the euphoria of an old glory that has been taken over by trend and time. Above all, I still see Nollywood as a special place; a place filled with creative geniuses. Working together and supporting ourselves can only make greater arts happen to the diverse audiences we all set out to entertain.

But at the end of each plastic characters that comes with movie productions, let’s find a way to share our real side. It’ll either scare away every fake person in our life or it will inspire them to finally let go of that mirage called “perfection”.

UNTH Salary Crisis Worsens As JOHESU Threatens Breakdown If…

CRISIS rocking the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu State came to a head yesterday, with a threat of breakdown of law and order if the hospital management  pays resident doctors the alleged withheld parts of salaries and wages the doctors have been protesting against.

File: doctors

The institution’s resident doctors had embarked on protests over alleged tampering with their salaries and other wages by the institution.

But the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, in the hospital comprising Senior Staff Association, Medical and Health Workers Union, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, National Union of Allied Health Professionals and Non-Academic Staff Union, has written the hospital’s management threatening fire and brimstone should any such money be paid to the resident doctors.

Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Christopher Amah disclosed that in a letter dated November 29, 2018 and signed by its chairman and secretary, Barrister G.C. Nwadike and Ben Agbo respectively, the union said it was convinced that the money being demanded by the resident doctors was taken from the overall personnel cost fund of the hospital   meant for paying all categories of staff.

“With such depletion, it will be impossible to have enough funds to pay all categories of staff their salaries up to the end of the year,” JOHESU said.

The union further explained that “there are two platforms for payment of staff emoluments,   IPPIS and GIFMIS with one central account with the Central Bank of Nigeria housing the UNTH Personnel Cost Account.

UNICEF: 360,000 Adolescents Expected to Die of AIDS by 2030

Some 360,000 adolescents are expected to die of AIDS by 2030 if investment in HIV prevention is not ramped up, according to a UNICEF report released Thursda

The figures show the world is “off track’’ in its goal to end AIDS among children by 2030, UNICEF’s executive director, Henrietta Fore, said.

Projections show there will be a decline in the number of children and young people infected with HIV and dying from AIDS-related causes.

But the UN children’s fund warned progress is notably slower among adolescents – defined by the UN as those between ages 10 and 19.

For example, AIDS-related deaths are projected to decrease by 57 per cent among children below the age of 14 by 2030, compared with 35 per cent among those aged 15 to 19 years.

“Programmes to prevent HIV transmission from mothers to babies are paying off but haven’t gone far enough.

“Programmes to treat the virus and prevent it from spreading among older children are nowhere near where they should be,’’ Fore said.

The report blames slow progress in preventing HIV among young children, along with a failure to address structural and behavioural drivers of the epidemic.

For example, many young people do not know they have HIV, and those who do often fail to stick to their treatment plans.

UNICEF is pushing for more family-centred testing and diagnostic technologies, as well as targeted outreach programmes and a greater use of digital platforms to improve knowledge of HIV among adolescents. (dpa/NAN)

Fraudsters Posing As DJ Kaywise, Arrested

The Nigerian police has arrested two fraudsters who posed as DJ Kaywise on social media platforms, to defraud unsuspecting upcoming artistes and DJs.

Funke Adesiyan Speaks On Next Plans After Stolen Mandate

Nollywood actress turned politician, Funke Adesiyan has stated that she is not backing out of politics despite her stolen mandate, which seemingly set her back in her ambition to serve her constituency in Oyo State.

Barely 24 hours after celebrating her victory at the primary election of the party, where she claimed to have emerged the standard bearer ahead of the 2019 elections, Adesiyan said she was shocked to find out that her name had been replaced.

In a statement signed by her and shared on social media platforms, livid Adesiyan said she could not bring herself to believe that her victory could be upturned without any explanation.

The statement read in part:

“While I am not quite happy that my hard-earned mandate was taken away from me, as this rudely stands against the principle with which I stand for, I can’t go against the wish of our party, (APC).

“I can’t understand why people, who bought forms sold at exorbitant prices, went for primaries and emerged winners only to be told that their names had been swapped for anointed candidates. One may be tempted to ask why we had primaries in the first place.”

Asked if she would dump the party to actualise her dream, Funke Adesiyan said she would make her decision known to the public in the coming days, adding that she was not the type that would bow under pressure, Tribune reports.

“This is obvioulsy not the last you would hear about me. I am a proper indigene of Ibadan as against what some people have been saying. I am from Kudeti in Ibadan and my forefathers were the ones who sold land to people in that area. I am working on my next plans. Something big is coming,” she said.

Chidinma Okeke Married: I’m Not Chidinma Cucumber – Bride Says

However, the real bride in the viral photos identified as Chidinma Anyaegbunam, has come out to claim she is not Chidinma Cucumber just as the beauty was tagged then and that the duo only has striking resemblances.

The woman, who is still on honeymoon, has, therefore, alerted the public on the mistaken identity, with a warning that those who published her wedding pictures as those of Ms Okeke should take them down and apologise.

In an Instagram message, Mrs Anyaegbunam, who also coincidentally happens to be a former beauty queen of the Nnamdi Azikwe University, UNIZIK, declared that “I am not Chidinma Cucumber.”

Eze Madumer Confused – Imo Govt

The Imo State government has said that Prince Eze Madumer, the Deputy governor, is confused just as it said that it has filed appeals against the Judgement delivered by Hon Justice B.C. Iheka on Madumer’s impeachment and the motion for stay of execution has also been filed.

The government in a statement signed by Sam Onwuemeodo Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said ‘we want to state clearly that the only offence Governor Okorocha committed against Madumere he had carried on his back like a baby for decades and made him somebody is that he did not anoint him as his successor. And you now ask whether it is compulsory that every Deputy Governor must succeed his boss as governor. And if the answer is NO, then Madumere should count his teeth with his tongue.

Segun Agagu : Five years after He does not know what he wants. He signed the statement as Deputy – Governor and at the same time parading himself as Governorship Aspirant on the platform of APC and of course, about 48hours to the Party’s Primary for the governorship. The Statemet read thus

(1) The Judgement on the impeachment of Prince Eze Madumere was delivered on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

(2) We had withheld reaction to that Judgement because we needed to read it and acquaint ourselves with the crux of the Judgement.

(3) We have read it, and the crux of the Judgement delivered by Hon Justice B.C. Iheka is that the Chief Judge of the State Constituted the seven – man investigation panel outside the 7 days approved by Law.

(4) We hold nothing against the trial Judge and we shall continue to hold the Judge and the Judiciary in general in high esteem.

(5) We also want to inform the general public that all the relevant parties in the matter have filed their appeals against the Judgement and the motion for stay of execution has also been filed.

(6) We have also read the Press Statement issued and signed by Prince Madumere himself, which he issued and signed as Deputy – Governor few minutes after the Judgement.

(7) The fact remains that Prince Madumere is confused. He does not know what he wants. He signed the statement as Deputy – Governor and at the same time parading himself as Governorship Aspirant on the platform of APC and of course, about 48hours to the Party’s Primary for the governorship.

(8) In his statement, he thanked two other Governorship Aspirants in the State on the platforms of APGA and PDP, Chief Ikedi Ohakim and Chief Emeka Ihedioha for their contributions to his legal victory.

(9) Prince Eze Madumere had thanked Chief Ohakim and Chief Ihedioha whose supports for him were targeted at Governor Okorocha and APC in the State, but heavily insulted the man who took him up from the floor where he was to the level he is today.

(10) In his statement, he said that his offence is that he stood by the people for Justice. And you may ask Prince Madumere, at what point did he become an apostle of Justice and over what? He was Chief of Staff and later Deputy Governor. Which means from May 2011 to the time he was impeached about two months ago, he was the second in Command in the government. And he is still struggling to remain as Deputy Governor and also aspiring to be governor at the same time. Men like Prince Madumere are bitter or ugly case-studies.

(11) And we want to state clearly that the only offence Governor Okorocha committed against Madumere he had carried on his back like a baby for decades and made him somebody is that he did not anoint him as his successor. And you now ask whether it is compulsory that every Deputy Governor must succeed his boss as governor. And if the answer is NO, then Madumere should count his teeth with his tongue. Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ Becomes The First Ever Album To Hit 1 Billion Streams In A Week

Drake‘s new album, Scorpion has set him a new record by becoming the first album to surpass 1 billion streams worldwide across all streaming platforms in one week.

Before Drake’s accomplishment, Post Malone’s album Beerbongs & Bentleys previously owned the worldwide record with almost 700 million streams.

The Canadian rapper took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement. “New Era. New platinum.  Thank you a billion times over (a billion plus),” he wrote.

According to Complex, Scorpion broke another one of Beerbongs’ records (431.3 million) by accumulating over 750 million streams in the U.S. in its first week.  Those numbers should set Scorpion up to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with an estimated 700 equivalent album units, which is less than Views’ debut week but good enough to be the biggest for an album in 2018.

The Scorpion single “God’s Plan” is also the most-streamed song of the year, earning 1.121 billion streams, making it the only song to top a billion streams in 2018.  While the second-most streamed song of the year is Post Malone and Ty Dolla Sign‘s “Psycho,” which has earned 576 million streams.

New era. New platinum. Thank you a billion times over (a billion plus). ?

WhatsApp Adds Verified Badges To Select Business Accounts

WhatsApp is giving business accounts verified green badges if their contact information checks out. So far, business verification is limited to the small number of businesses that are participating in the pilot program. If the phone number of a contact belongs to a business account, it earns a green check.

WhatsApp is also going to let you know if you’re talking to a business by showing a yellow text bubble in the chat. These texts can’t be deleted, according to WhatsApp. In general, users are able to delete messages and chats from a regular conversation, but WhatsApp seems to be forcing users to keep records of chats with a verified business.

The green badges are an effort to make businesses appear more trustworthy on the messaging app, and could encourage more businesses to get on the platform. It’s also another feature that WhatsApp’s parent company, Facebook, already incorporates on its own platform—Facebook has a gray badge for verified business pages.

The two platforms continue to grow closer in features. Last week, WhatsApp got colorful status updates that first rolled out on Facebook.

Newspaper Owners Use Their Platforms To Pursue Personal Interests – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday lashed out at the association of newspaper owners in the country, reprimanding them for allegedly deploying their “platform to pursue personal interests.”

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, the anti-graft agency said the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN, wrongly accused it of attempting to stifle free press in raiding the head office of The Sun Newspapers last week.

The anti-graft agency was responding to an advert which NPAN placed in THISDAY and Leadership Newspapers Monday, condemning the June 12 presence of anti-graft operatives at The Sun office, which is located in Apapa, Lagos.

“The manner of the invasion tends to suggest that the EFCC was out on a self-help mission, a voyage to intimidate journalists, criminalise journalism and cower free speech,” Mr. Uwujaren quoted the advertorial as stating.

The ‘invasion’ was also condemned by the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Guild of Editors who asked the anti-graft agency to apologise for its action.

The EFCC, however, denied the charge of media clampdown, saying NPAN was out to whip up undue sentiments for its own aggrandisement.

Mr. Uwujaren took specific aim at the NPAN boss, Nduka Obaigbena, stating that the newspaper proprietor was trying to seize the situation as a way of getting back at the agency’s acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The EFCC briefly detained Mr. Obaigbena in 2016 over allegations that the journalist benefited from the $2.1 billion arms purchase scandal that rocked the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mr. Obaigbena admitted he received up to N670 million from Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser at the heart of the alleged arms procurement fraud, but said a large chunk of it was meant as compensation for the 2012 Boko Haram attack at THISDAY bureau in Abuja.

Mr. Uwujaren, in his latest statement, said Mr. Obaigbena was still reeling from the action the anti-graft agency took against him last year, but said Mr. Magu will not be deterred in his quest to contain sharp practices across all sectors.

“If the EFCC has committed any sin against Obaigbena and some members of NPAN, it was in carrying out its statutory mandate of fighting corruption and ensuring that impunity was checked,” Mr. Uwujaren said. “It is no secret that some NPAN members are yet to forgive the Commission for the money recovered from them in the course of the ONSA investigation.”

“Nigeria is bigger than any individual and NPAN must be mindful not to allow members to hijack its platform to pursue personal interests,” he added.

Travel Romance – How To Find Love While Traveling

Travel romance: People fall in love with the most unexpected persons at the most unexpected time when they aren’t searching for it. A seemingly boring backpacking trip stuffed with all the adventure, culture, life lessons might become interesting when love is suddenly thrown in the mix. Who knows, your soul mate may just be a plane ticket away. Here are a few tips on how to find love while traveling:

1 Explore your environment

Getting to know your environment means you have to leave the comfort of your hotel accommodation to explore your surroundings. If you are not finding love on the road, you are probably not looking very hard. There are potential lovers everywhere, in hotel accommodations near you, restaurants, shopping malls, on the streets, everywhere. Just look around you. Your soul mate could be a tourist like you or a local. Do not discriminate, because you may never know what the future holds.

2 Be open to the experience

There are many perks of travel romance. If you are fortunate enough to get involved with a local, you can learn the culture, visit romantic spots that you would ordinarily not go on your own except with a local that knows that knows the town, or even pick up the language.

3 Find someone who shares your dream

When you find someone that shares your dream, you can talk about anything and everything with him or her. From mundane things such as the scorching heat of the sun to important things such as future goals and ambitions. The constant highs of discovery – be it food, new location, culture or simply each other – brings about a frenzy that may last a lifetime if properly nurtured.

4 Let the communication lines be open

Once you find someone that shares your dream, the next step is to keep the communication lines open. While it sounds very exciting at first, the real work is keeping the initial spark alive. Despite creating a connection that is hard to outmatch, the second you are away from each other and back to your respective homelands, that connection will be threatened. However, there is no need to worry because technology has made it easy to keep the connection alive. Video calls, text messages, voice notes, you name it.

5 Don’t worry about what happens next

Despite the endless strings of promises to keep staying in touch with the available technology, some travel romance sometimes come to an end. Although you might be quite fortunate to meet someone who actually writes you a postcard every time, leaves you messages on Skype and all your preferred communication platforms. Whatever the case may be, do not worry about what happens next. Try to fall back into your old routine and gradually pick up where you left. However, if the heartbreak hurts so bad, take another trip. You might never know who you will meet this time around.

Arrest Your Boyfriend If He Uses Your Photo As DP -Christian Counselor

Controversial Ghanaian Christian counselor, George Lutterodt, has dropped yet another one. In his new counselling post, he advised ladies to get any man or even their boyfriends arrested, if they in anyway use their pictures as DPs (Display Photos) on social media platforms.

According to him, no man has the right to use a lady’s photo as his DP, thus he charged women to be vigilant and call for the arrest of any man, who is yet to marry them but has used their photos as DP.

“Report such a man to the police and let them know he is using your image to perpetrate crime”, he stated “Never allow a poor man to marry you. You will die early and go to hell. A man who cannot afford a square meal and a snack should not dream of marriage because he cannot fend for himself.
“There are some of the men who have no rooms of their own who live in obey the wind chamber and hall. Any man who is of age but not reminded by his parents, such parents are witches and wizards. Never support a man to marry you. .
He must be fully responsible to cater for you and therefore must bear all the cost of the marriage. If you are also a woman beautiful and attractive yet no man proposes to you, buy a mirror, hang it in your room and weep”, he added.
