Relief as rain Falls Over Autralian Bushfires

Rain fell across parts of bushfire-ravaged eastern Australia on Thursday and more wet weather was forecast, giving some relief following months of catastrophic blazes fuelled by climate change. The fires, unprecedented for Australia in terms of duration and intensity, have claimed 28 lives and killed an estimated billion animals. Sustained hot weather and only very rare periods of light rain in the affected areas have deepened the crisis. So authorities had been looking forward to this week’s rain hoping it would help contain or even extinguish some fires. In the state of New South Wales, where many of the worst fires have burnt, there were “good falls” on some blazes early Thursday, the local meteorology bureau reported. In the southern city of Melbourne, thunderstorms la...

Roman sat down with RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V and Suga for an interview – however, the chat was never aired on Capital FM. Now, he has explained that the interview was cut because ‘we didn’t deem it necessary’. Speaking to Digital Spy, the radio presenter said: ‘It got very personal for me and the second my mum was involved and my girlfriend was involved, I want to step away from that. ‘It created a realm of something I hadn’t been aware of and there comes a point where someone has to go “enough”. ‘I don’t wa...

Aint The Rule Of Law A Bitch 1

I AM currently almost half way through my LLM Programme in the area of ‘International Law And Diplomacy’. Quite an interesting area of law, you should know. And I love the most the aspect of it called ‘International Humanitarian Law’ -otherwise referred to as the ‘Law of  Conflict’. Or the ‘Law of War’. Yes, you heard right; the ‘law of war’! Rule of law As if war itself is a legal necessity. You wonder why the ‘rule of law’ is so ‘bitchy’ it superintends even over such obnoxious blood-letting and life-wasting phenomenon called war. But soon you’ll see how cowardly even the ‘rule of law’ is, that although it purports to regulate such undesirable phenomenon, yet as soon as hostilities commence, even the ‘rule of law’ spinelessly comes down from its high reverent horse, covers its f...

How Has The 14-Year-Old Xavi Simons Become Such A Social Media Phenomenon

With over 472,000 followers in the social network, plenty are taking notice of the midfielder and Mino Raiola has recently signed a deal to represent him.Indeed, Simons' posts are not too different from the standard footballer's social media log; his popularity has not risen by chance or due to an excessive passion to detail his personal life online.MARCA contacted Instagram expert Manuel Moreno to discover how a young player can become more popular than Jesus Navas, Joaquin, Lucas Perez, and many more on the site."[Simons] has a lot of followers," Moreno notes."His personal image on social networks is very worked on, edited, with text and graphics."I think he has very professional people behind him who manage the account, which could give us an explanation for this boom."Indeed Simon's ac...

He was the Copa America player of the tournament and the golden boot winner in 1919. Why Private Universities Are Stronger In Nigeria

In 1948, the university education started in Nigeria when the first university was established in Ibadan. In the wake of the birth of Third Republic in 1999, the deregulation of the economy saw the emergence of private universities. The financial crisis facing states of the federation encouraged the establishment of the private universities, which are increasing till date. It should be observed that the quest to give more choices to the ever-increasing number of admission seekers necessitated the establishment of private universities. Since then, there have been about 60 approved private universities in the country. Just like the public universities...

“Statue Of Jesus In Anambra Drops Water Miraculously”

At first I was reluctant sharing these pictures online. It took me and some priests days to ascertain this miraculous drop of water from the jaw of the Divine Mercy statue. Since Ash Wednesday upuntill this moment, there has been an unfathomable dropping of water even at the hottest heat of the sun. Go to Jesus and Mary Adoration ground Amichi and see for yourself. I observed that the drop comes out and hang without dropping on the ground. When you wipe it and stand to see another come out and from where it will come out, I bet you, you will stand till "thy kingdom come" and nothing will come out. But if you move a little distance away from the Statue and come back, you will still see a drop. People are confirming its healing power. What the Lord has done is marvelous in our eyes. K...
