Court to begin Nnamdi Kanu’s trial in absentia

The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu will begin on Thursday November 26 as scheduled by the Federal High Court in Abuja.   Ahead of the court sitting in which five prosecution witnesses have been lined up to testify against Nnamdi Kanu, copies of the hearing notice were served on the prosecution team in the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.   Recall that Justice Binta Nyako had since March 28, 2019, revoked the bail granted the IPOB leader, ordered his arrest, and directed that his trial on charges of a treasonable felony would proceed in his absence; but the court had not had any sitting on the case since then.

Porn star, Stormy Daniels was on Tuesday ordered by a federal judge to pay President Donald Trump hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees for her failed defamation lawsuit against him. Judge James Otero, who threw out Daniels' suit against Trump, asked her to pay the US President $293,052.33 in attorney fees. He wrote: Based on the unique nature of this litigation and the Court's familiarity with the fees charged in this jurisdiction, the Court concludes that Defendant's rate requests are reasonable. ‘Military Yet To Pay Me N1.25M As Ordered By Court’ – Actress Ebere Ohakwe

Actress, Ebere Ohakwe, better known as Jewel Infinity, has said she has yet to get her compensation from the Nigerian Army. After being assaulted by an army officer identified as Sulaiman Olamilekan in February 2017, Ohakwe dragged the army before the court. Last month, a Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, ordered the Nigerian Army to pay the sum of N1, 250,000 and publish a written apology in at least two national dailies to the actress.
