The Village Headmaster Returns After 33 Years As NTA Releases Trailer (Video)

Thirty-three years after it was rested, the longest ever running drama on Nigerian television The Village Headmaster is scheduled for a return in April. Starring old and new faces, the reincarnated series will air on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) network in collaboration with Wale Adenuga Productions. A trailer uploaded on YouTube shows that Dejumo Lewis returns in his role as Oloja (King) of Oja. Also returning are Ibidun Allison as Amebo, Dan Imoudu as Dagbolu, Dele Osawe as Teacher Fadele, Kate Adepegba (Folake), Lara Akinsola (Doyin) and Melville Obriango (Teacher Oghene). Nigerians now enjoy 18 to 24 hours of electricity daily – Buhari govt claims

President Muhammadu Buhari’s government says Nigerians now get 18 to 24 hours of electricity daily. Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, said this in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) on Tuesday. He stated that the Buhari administration had improved the power sector. The minister said the federal government had upgraded the 330KVA, the highest voltage in the country. He confirmed that 132 substations have been improved and the 40MW Kashimbilla station has been completed. Mamman added that work on Zungeru station in Niger has reached 70 percent. Ace News Anchor, Cyril Stober Retires From NTA

Popular news anchor Cyril Stober retires from The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), The Veteran broadcaster was earlier reported to have retired from service in 2015, but was later seen anchoring programmes on the government-owned TV after the announcement of his retirement. Although there has not been an official announcement from the Network service on his retirement, but reports gathered on social media indicate that Cyril has finally retired. In 2018, he wedded another broadcaster with the NTA, Elizabeth Banu. The two broadcasters were famed for casting the Network News and anchoring the programme, Tuesday live also on the NTA network. NSCDC Operative, Three Others Shot Dead In Benin

Four people, including an operative of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, have been killed by gunmen in Benin. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the NSCDC operative, Rawlings Osagie, was shot dead at his residence when he returned home from work late on Monday. A younger brother to the deceased, Aghatise Osagie, who confirmed the development, told NAN that Mr. Rawlings was shot in the stomach by the gunmen. He said Mr. Rawlings, an assistant superintendent in the NSCDC, died at a hospital where he was rushed to after the shooting.
