NDLEA Seizes Illicit Drugs Concealed In Noodles Cartons

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Adamawa State Command, has intercepted 1.31 tonnes of illicit drugs which were concealed in noodles’ cartons. Yakubu Kibo, the NDLEA’s state Commander, who made the disclosure shortly after displaying the exhibits on Thursday in Yola, said the drugs were valued at N19 million. Kibo said that one suspect was arrested where the drugs were intercepted in Mubi. He said: “On February 7, 2018, a team of NDLEA operatives cordoned off one electronics shop opposite Mubi General Hospital. “After thorough search, 183 cartons of Indomie noodles were discovered. 619 Suspected Drug Traffickers Arrested In Kano

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says the agency has arrested 619 suspected drug traffickers in Kano State in 2017. The state Commandant of the agency, Alhaji Hamza Umar, disclosed this on Friday in Kano at a news conference organised by the command in collaboration with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). Umar said that the suspects were arraigned before the Federal High Court in the state where 165 of them were convicted to serve various prison terms. According to him, the command also intercepted more than 17.1 tons of illicit drugs across the state, including over 344.9 grams of Cocaine and over 88.2 grams of Heroine, within the period under review. “From January to date, we also intercepted over 5.5 tons of Canavis and over 11 tons of Rochi,” the NDLEA commandant ...

Mr Musa Aloko, the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board says 12 Christian religious studies teachers are part of the 104 intending pilgrims to perform the 2017 exercise to Israel. Aloko disclosed this at orientation exercise for the intending pilgrims from the state on Thursday in Lafia. He said that the contingents from the state consist of 100 government sponsored and four self-sponsored intending pilgrims. Five Suspected Drug Peddlers Arrested In Sokoto

The Sokoto Police Command said it had arrested five suspected drug peddlers with different substances. The suspects are Abubakar Bala, 26, Musa Muhammad, 40, Hussani Zayyana, 22, Tanimu Uda, 22, and Tashar Makka, 22. The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Abdulkadir, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Friday. Nigeria Customs Arrests Truck Conveying Contraband Clothing Materials Worth N17m

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has arrested a truck conveying 340 bales of clothing materials worth N17 million in Sokoto, an official has said. Mr Nasir Ahmad, NCS Controller in-charge of Kebbi/Sokoto/Zamfara Command, made the development known to newsmen in Sokoto on Friday. He said the seized items were among the list of contraband by the Federal Government. Ahmad said the seizure was made on Nov. 13 along Sokoto-Illela road. While displaying the seized items and the truck, he said that the suspects abandoned the truck when they sighted the NCS patrol team. NDLEA Arrests 3 Indian Hemp Farmers In Gombe

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday said it had arrested three farmers in Kulani village, Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State for allegedly cultivating 160 Kilograms of Indian hemp. The NDLEA Commandant in the state, Mr Aliyu Adole, told newsmen in Gombe on Saturday. Adole said many farmers were involved in the cultivation of the weed in the state and the agency had been on their trail.
