NDLEA Arrests 2 Suspects With 16.65kg Of Cocaine At Lagos Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two Nigerians who came in from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with 16.65 kilogramme of substances suspected to be cocaine on their arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. The two suspected traffickers, Okwubunne Chidiebere Simeon and Aniakor Uchenna James, were arrested on October 28, 2020, and were said to have concealed the drugs in a spectacular way to beat the officials of the NDLEA. Codeine Is Most Abused Drug In Nasarawa – NDLEA

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that the cough syrup, Codeine, is the most abused drug in Nasarawa State. Mr Sumaila Ethan, NDLEA Commander in the state made the disclosure at a news conference held at the agency’s state headquarters in Lafia on Tuesday to commemorate 2017 UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. NDLEA Arrests 42 Drug Dealers, Seizes 700 Kgs Illicit Drugs In Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 42 suspected drug traffickers and seized 700 kilogrammes of illicit drugs between July 2016 and June 2017. Its Commander, Mr Ethan Sumaila, who disclosed this, on Tuesday, in Lafia, identified cannabis sativa and Indian hemp as the commonest illicit drugs in the state. Sumaila was briefing newsmen as part of activities to mark the 2017 United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zonal Command in Enugu State arrested 356 suspected drug traffickers in six months, according to the Zonal Commander, Mr Anthony Ohanyere. Three women have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Badagry, Lagos State. It was learnt that the suspects — Adesola Kolawole, 30; Sade Oyewale, 44; and 36-year-old Kadijat Mojeet — were found with about four kilogrammes of cannabis in their hideouts. A statement by the NDLEA on Tuesday said the arrest followed complaints from members of the public, who reported that the suspects constituted a nuisance in the area.
