24 People Burnt to Death in Road Accident in Jigawa State

About 24 people have been burnt beyond recognition in a fatal auto accident at Gwamfai village in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State. Media aide to the Jigawa State Governor, Auwal Sankara, who confirmed the incident, said it happened while Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar was on his way to Gumel. He explained that the accident happened when the driver of an 18-seater Toyota bus from Jahun heading to Shuwari market in Kiyawa Local Government Area lost control and rammed into a black market petrol seller on the road side. Record Breaking ABU First Class Graduate Gets Governor Bafaru’s Overseas Scholarship

The Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has awarded overseas scholarship to Ahmadu Bello University’s (ABU) First Class graduate, Safiyu Haruna Mallam Madori. The student broke a 58-year record of the University. Safiyanu Haruna of Malam Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State from Arabic Department of the University has made history by graduating with a cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.73 that no student ever graduated with in the 58 years history of the University. The Arabic Department of the Ahmadu Bello University has a reputation that no student ever graduated with First Class since its creation in 1962. The Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has appointed a special assistant to each of his three wives, DailyTrust reports. One Sa’adatu Bashir Muhammed was appointed a special assistant to the first wife of the governor, while Mariya Muhammed Muktar and Aisha Garba were special assistants to the second and third wife respectively. Governor Badaru Signs N138.6bn 2018 Budget Into Law

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has signed into law the sum of N138.6b Jigawa State 2018 appropriation law after it was passed last week by the state House of Assembly. Governor Abubakar had on 28th of November 2017 presented a budget proposal of N134.17 billion for 2018 to the state House of Assembly tagging it as, “Budget of sustained Economic Growth and Social Transformation”. The Budget was increased by the state Assembly to 138.6 as against what was presented by the governor. Speaking after signing of the Budget, Governor Badaru commended the state House of Assembly for the speedy passed of the budget. He also assured of the full implementation of the budget in order to improve the lives of jigawa people.

Jigawa State Miyatti Allah Chairman, Sa’idu Musa Gagarawa has said that politicians are causative agent of most of the clashes taking place between farmers and herdsmen in the country.
