Protest Reported Following the Death of Four Ibadan Residents by Customs Officers

About four people were, on Tuesday, allegedly killed by Customs officers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Residents of the area gave two different narratives of the incident. While some said the victims were killed when a seized truck controlled by Customs officers hit road users, others said the victims were shot during a protest following the truck accident. WotzupNG gathered that the protest occurred opposite the NCS barracks in Ijokodo area of Ibadan. The barracks is located along the Ijokodo- Apete Road. Fake Soldier and Policeman Arrested for Using ‘Uniforms’ to Scout for Passengers on Restricted Routes in Lagos

Two suspects have been arrested for impersonating security operatives at Oshodi by officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce). Monday Job was accused of impersonating a Police Officer and using his commercial motorcycle to scout for passengers on restricted routes, while Rasak Oloyede who presented himself as an Army Officer was accused of using his commercial bus for fraudulent acts along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi said the suspects confessed to impersonating security operatives to avoid being accosted by genuine security officers on monitoring duties or patrol. The Lagos State Government has promised to provide alternative means of transportation for Lagosians in the wake of its ban on commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists in certain areas of the metropolis. It also praised ‘keke’ and ‘okada’ riders for complying with their restriction from six LGAs, major highways and bridges. The enforcement by the State Security Council began on Saturday. The unnamed 24-year-old was reportedly left briefly unconscious after the collision at a crossroads in Rosario, Argentina. Boyfriend sentenced to death for killing HND female student

A High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, yesterday sentenced to death the killer boyfriend of an HND student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Nifemi Adeyeoye to death by hanging. The convict, Chukwudi Onweniwe, was dragged before the court in May 22, 2017, on a four-count charge of action endangering life, kidnapping and abduction, rape and murder.
