A Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Minna, Reverend Father John Gbakaan Yaji, has been killed by bandits in Niger state. It was learnt that the Priest was first kidnapped before he was killed by the bandits. His body was discovered on Sunday. The whereabouts of seven police officers out of 15 that were ambushed by bandits along the Birnin Gwari-Funtua road on Friday is still uncertain. A pregnant woman and her two children were killed in late night house fire in Minna, Niger State. The incident reportedly happened in the Bosso Anguwan Biri area of the state capital over the past weekend. 16 People Burnt To Death In Horrific Accident In Niger State

Sixteen people in bus conveying them from Ibadan in Oyo State to Minna, the Niger State capital have died in accident along the Bida-Minna Road. Only three weeks ago, 13 people lost their lives in an accident on the same Bida-Minna Road. Only 24 Candidates Pass NECO Exam In Zamfara

24 candidates from Zamfara state passed the 2017 November/December Senior School Certificate Examination of the National Examinations Council (NECO). 186 candidates reportedly sat for the examination in Zamfara. A protest by some youths in Minna, Niger State over the epileptic power supply in the town has further worsen the power situation in the state capital and adjoining towns. A 60-year-old man, Nuhu Mohammed, on Thursday pleaded guilty to raping his 12-year-old daughter and her 13-year-old friend.
