Liverpool vs Man City: Klopp Speaks on Alisson Becker’s Errors After EPL Defeat

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has commented on goalkeeper, Alisson Becker’s errors against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday evening. Klopp defended Becker after the Brazilian made two massive blunders as Man City defeated Liverpool at Anfield, thanks to goals from Ikay Gundogan (2), Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden. Mohamed Salah’s penalty was not enough to give Liverpool a point against Pep Guardiola’s men as the Premier League champions lost three consecutive matches at home for the first time since 1963. Reacting to Becker’s mistakes after the game, Klopp told Sky Sports: “It is true as well we did not give him [Alisson Becker] a lot of options, especially the first one. “Second yeah, he just mishit the ball, maybe he had cold feet, it sounds funny but don’t...

Man City beat Man United to reach EFL Cup final

Manchester City deservedly beat Manchester United to reach the Carabao Cup final and will now face Tottenham at Wembley as they look to win the competition for a fourth straight year. Second-half goals from John Stones and Fernandinho secured their progress as City cut loose after a first period in which both sides had goals disallowed. Stones exposed poor United set-piece defending when he nudged home Phil Foden's free-kick from close range five minutes after the restart. Pep Guardiola's side looked the more likely scorers afterwards, despite United's increasing desperation, and when Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could only combine to clear a corner to the edge of their own box, Fernandinho drilled a first-time volley into the bottom corner from 20 yards. City and Liverpool have been the two dominant sides in England for the past three years, with the Reds running away with the league last season after back-to-back titles for Guardiola’s men. . However, with City just six games into their league season and every team in the top-flight having dropped points in at least two games so far, Guardiola believes he must steer his side into contention over the long haul. . “It’s an important game, but like the presidential elections in the United States of America, all the votes must be counted,” he said at his pre-match pres...

Man City’s dour draw at Atalanta won’t prove too costly, but a repeat performance at Anfield will

Manchester City produced a chaotic second-half display in a famous old stadium on Wednesday. They cannot afford another on Sunday. A trip to the San Siro is usually the highlight of any European campaign, but beforehand, this one was reduced to a glorified warm-up with Anfield and Liverpool to come in four days' time.
