Student Fights Lecturer and Tears his Shirt for not Allowing her to Write an Exam

A student was filmed dragging a lecturer by the shirt and fighting him for preventing her from taking an exam in Auchi Polytechnic, Edo state. The lecturer had reportedly given the student a malpractice form, meaning she would have to retake the exam. This angered the student and she attacked him after the exam. Video shared online shows her fighting her lecturer despite efforts by her coursemates to pry her away from the helpless man.

Two Electoral Officers in Imo arrested for altering results in their wards

The Returning Officer, in Imo State, Christian Ogbuagbu, has handed over two collation officers to security agents over the manipulation of results in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area. Channels TV reports that the collation officer, Ehirim Kelechi, confirmed to the Returning Officer that after issuing duplicates of the results to party agents, he altered the original copy, injecting more than 1,000 votes to the results. This was discovered after the results he read out at the collation centre was disputed by party agents and the RO compared the results.     The authorities of the University of Ilorin have apprehended two candidates (name withheld) over alleged malpractice on the first day of the institution’s ongoing post UTME screening exercise. The West African Examinations Council has said that there is an upsurge in examination malpractice because some principals are under pressure to increase the performance of their pupils in external examinations. The examination body, therefore, called on the All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, to “act as a Whistleblower to the council by reporting acts of examination malpractice during the WASSCE.’’ It also said that examination centres caught engaging in examination malpractice would be delisted, while candidates would be barred from sitting for WASSCE for an unspecified number of years. The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, says collusion is one of the greatest methods of examination malpractices that is inherent among blind candidates. The Head of Test Administration of WAEC in Nigeria, Mrs Frances Iweha-Onukwu, made the revelation in Lagos, yesterday. Iweha-Onukwu said the reason could be that the candidates were usually not well-equipped individually for the examinations. She added that this had been responsible for what she described as ‘not too wonderful performance’ among the blinds.
