Arsenal Lose At Home To Leicester For The First Time In The EPL As Vardy Scores

Jamie Vardy came off the bench to score a customary goal against Arsenal and send Leicester to within a point of the Premier League summit with a first win at the Gunners' home since 1973. Vardy, 33, had missed two games with a calf injury but was reintroduced after a largely sterile opening hour at Emirates Stadium and promptly ended a 262-minute Leicester goal drought in the league. The former England international headed home fellow substitute Cengiz Under's smart pass to bring up a remarkable 11th Premier League goal against Arsenal in 12 appearances. Only Wayne Rooney, with 12, has more goals. Until Vardy's arrival Leicester had barely threatened but they have now won their opening three away league games for the first time. Magical Mesut Ozil & Super-sub Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Make It Ten In A Row For Arsenal

Mesut Ozil stole the show in the second half (Picture: Getty) Resilience wasn’t a skill readily associated with Arsenal sides towards the latter end of Arsene Wenger’s tenure at the club. Leicester vs Liverpool: Reds Extend Winning Streak Despite Alisson Blunder

Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker gestures after the final whistle during the English Premier League football match between Leicester City and Liverpool at King Power Stadium in Leicester, central England on September 1, 2018. / AFP PHOTO A goalkeeping howler from Alisson saw Liverpool concede for the first time this season, but they held on to win 2-1 at Leicester and extend their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season. Goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the first half gave table-toppers Liverpool a seemingly unassailable lead. Leicester deservedly reduced the arrears through Rachid Ghezzal, who punished an embarrassing blunder from Alisson. It was the first goal Jurgen Klopp’s side had conceded in 418 minutes of Premier League football goi...
