Three suspected sea pirates have been arrested in Bayelsa and Rivers states in connection with the kidnapping of four expatriates from the United States of America. The suspects – Tony Ebiyepade, General Karinatei Timidiseghe and Godbless Oruboro – were reportedly tracked down through leaked telephone conversations. They allegedly specialised in kidnapping expatriates and collecting huge sums for their release. Over Hundred (100) Kidnapped People Rescued in Katsina state

The Katsina government has announced that no fewer than 104 people kidnapped by bandits in the state have been rescued. Speaking after receiving a batch of 77 rescued persons escorted to the Katsina Government House by the heavily armed security operatives, Governor Aminu Masari said the government achieved this in collaboration with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies in the state. A vigilante group in Taraba State has found four bodies in a kidnappers' den located in a forest in the state. The corpses said to be all male, are suspected to be that of some of the passengers who were kidnapped alongside 6 others at Wukari-Jalingo road in January.
