59 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday November 7, as confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).   A breakdown of the new cases is as follows; Kaduna-28, Rivers-9, Ogun-8, Ondo-8, Kano-2, Niger-2, Kwara-1, Plateau-1.   There are now 63,790 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country and 1,154 deaths have been recorded. 59,884 patients who recovered from the disease have also been discharged.

On Monday, Kaduna State Government revealed that the state has sent a total of 89 samples to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for Coronavirus test. Recall that on Sunday, NCDC announced a new case of the virus in the state, bringing the total to five. The Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Mohammed Baloni who disclosed this in Monday said, of the 89 samples, five were positive, 77 samples were negative, while, eight are pending. NAN also reports that the offices affected with the fire incident included engineering room, office of the Head of Marketing, conference hall, security office and drivers’ room. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday February 19, revealed that that 103 people have been killed by Lassa fever since its recent outbreak on December 30, 2019. Late victims of the disease resided in Ondo, Edo, Ebonyi, Kano, Kogi, Kaduna, Taraba, Plateau, Bauchi, Enugu, Abia, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Sokoto and Katsina. A total of 586 cases have been confirmed across the country. Rotimi Amaechi's Chief Security Officer has died. Mr. Tony Iwelu, the CSO to the Minister for Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, died of electric shock from a shower hose in his hotel room in Kaduna on Monday February 17, 2020, at about 10:30 AM. Iwelu had travelled with the Minister to Kaduna to felicitate with Governor Nasiru Elrufai on his birthday when the fatal shock happened.
