By the time Trump had left office, about $25bn (£18bn) had been spent on the project. In a letter to Congress on Thursday, February 11, Biden wrote that the order was "unwarranted" and said that no further tax dollars will be spent on the wall. In the letter,  Biden also wrote that he would also seek a review of "all resources appropriated or redirected" to the construction of the wall. His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world. We removed these statements yesterday because we judged that their effect -- and likely their intent -- would be to provoke further violence. Trump calls on Georgia runoff voters to ‘save’ America

President Donald Trump on Monday implored Georgians to "save" America and re-elect Republicans in two runoffs that will determine US Senate control and could decisively impact the start of Joe Biden's White House tenure. "Our country's depending on you. The whole world is watching the people of Georgia tomorrow," Trump, who still refuses to concede defeat in the presidential election barely two weeks before he leaves office, told a raucous crowd in the town of Dalton. Tuesday's twin Senate runoffs are "your last chance to save the America that we love," the president said. "If you don't show up, the radical Democrats will win." Georgia has not elected a Democrat to the Senate in 20 years. But if Jon Ossoff, a 33-year-old documentary producer, and pastor Raphael Warnock, 51, both w...

Biden’s popular vote margin over Trump tops 7 million

US President-elect, Joe Biden's margin over President Donald Trump in the nationwide popular vote is now more than 7 million votes, a number that might increase as several states continue counting votes.   Biden's lead over Trump is now the second largest since 2000, and is about two and a half times larger than Hillary Clinton's popular vote lead over Trump in 2016.   As of Friday morning, December 4, president-elect Biden had won about 81.2 million votes, and won about 74.2 million. Biden won 306 electoral votes, while Trump has 232. Two hundred and seventy electoral votes are needed to become president. While Biden is the president with the highest votes in history, Trump's vote count makes him the second-highest vote earner in American politics history. ...

New report claims Donald Trump has raised more than $170 million since Election Day from supporters by pushing election fraud

US president, Donald Trump has raised more than $170 million since Election Day from his supporters by pushing allegations that the election he lost to Joe Biden was rigged, according to a new report by the Washington Post. According to the report, the huge funds flowed into Trump's joint fundraising committee in less than four weeks after his campaign made fundraising solicitations to his supporters, urging them to donate to an "Election Defense Fund" as the President kept tweeting about a stolen election. The report also adds that a large share of the funds have ended the Trump campaign's debt and will help fund the President's future political operation as he has no plans to retire politically yet, with a 2024 White Houss sting operation being envisioned.   Less tha...

Donald Trump Sends Get Well Message To Joe Biden After Foot Injury

US president-elect Joe Biden has a foot fracture and will likely have to wear a medical boot, his team said Sunday after the 78-year-old was taken to the doctor because he had slipped while playing with his dog. Biden, who will become the oldest US president upon his January swearing-in, suffered the injury Saturday with Major, one of his two German shepherds. The president-elect’s personal physician Kevin O’Connor initially said x-rays had not uncovered any “obvious fracture”, but added that an additional CT scan would still be done. That scan “confirmed hairline (small) fractures… in the mid-foot,” O’Connor said in a subsequent statement released by Biden’s office. He added that the former vice president, who won election against Donald Trump in November, “will likely requir...

Arizona State Certifies Joe Biden’s Win

Arizona officials certified the state’s election results Monday, formalizing Democrat Joe Biden’s narrow victory over Donald Trump even as the Republican president’s attorneys continued making baseless claims of fraud in the state’s vote count. Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs certified the election results alongside Gov. Doug Ducey and Attorney General Mark Brnovich, both Republicans, and state Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Brutinel. Hobbs and Ducey both vouched for the integrity of the vote count. “We do elections well here in Arizona. The system is strong,” Ducey said. He did not directly address Trump’s claims of irregularities but said the state pulled off a successful election with a mix of in-person and mail voting despite the pandemic. Arizona voter...

US President-elect Joe Biden on Sunday announced an all-female senior White House communications team, in what his office called a first in the country's history. Among those named was Jen Psaki, who will serve in the highly visible role of White House press secretary. Psaki, 41, has held a number of senior positions, including White House communications director for the Barack Obama-Biden administration. Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have sought to emphasize diversity in their appointments and nominations so far ahead of their January 20 swearing-in. "I am proud to announce today the first senior White House communications team comprised entirely of women," Biden said in a statement. "These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to th...

Federal Appeals Court Dismisses Trump Campaign Lawsuit Over Pennsylvania Voting

Federal appeals court dismissed a lawsuit by the Trump campaign over Pennsylvania's voting procedures on Friday, paving the way for the issue to escalate all the way up to the Supreme Court. Despite Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani arguing to a lower court that widespread voter fraud occurred in a state where President-elect Joe Biden won by over 80,000 votes, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said “the campaign’s claims have no merit.” The Trump campaign has the option of asking the U.S. Supreme Court for emergency injunctive relief, which would go to Justice Samuel Alito, who would then likely ask his eight colleagues to weigh in. "The activist judicial machinery in Pennsylvania continues to cover up the allegations of massive fraud. We are very thankful to have had the oppo...
