Police Insist On Investigating Abudu-Balogun Despite Victim Withdrawing Case

Police in Ogun have said they would proceed with investigation into the sexual harassment allegations against the Commissioner for Environment Abiodun Abudu-Balogun. Ogun police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun had ordered that the case be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department at the Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital. Mother of Four Children Murdered in Lagos

The police in Lagos state is currently investigating the murder of a mother of four, Omotolani Detona, in the Ijaniki area of the state. Omotolani, a charcoal dealer, was murdered by yet to be identified persons in her home on Tuesday January 14th. Her children who had gone to school in the morning, returned to find her with multiple stab wounds and in the pool of her blood. A power transmission substation in Apo, a suburb in the Federal Capital Territory went up in flames on Sunday evening. According to initial reports, the fire started at about 1.30pm from a transformer in the substation and persisted for some hours. The Transmission Company of Nigeria confirmed the incident and stated that one of the 45MVA 132/33kV power transformers in the substation was involved.
