NDLEA Intercepts 1.6 Kilograms Of Controlled Drugs En-route Turkey

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Special Area Command, has intercepted 1.6 kilogramme of controlled drugs suspected to be Tramadol and Flunitrazepam. The Head of Public Affairs, NDLEA, Mr Jonah Achema, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja. Achema said that the drugs, which were destined for Istanbul, Turkey, barely a few days after the resumption of international flights, was an unusual drug trafficking trend. He said that the command made the seizure from Mr Michael Chukwuka, during the outward clearance of passengers boarding the Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, Turkey. Anambra Intercepts Transport Company Conveying Passengers To Lagos (Photos)

The Anambra State Ministry of Transport has intercepted a transport company in Awka for attempting to convey passengers to Lagos and other parts of the country, in violation of the lockdown directive by the government. According to IgbereTV reports, the inteception was made by the surveillance team of the ministry who patrolled the various parks and boundaries in the state to ensure compliance with the the Covid-19 directives of the government. NSCDC Intercepts Truckload Of PMS In Sacks In Ogun

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ogun State have intercepted a truck load of Premium Motor Spirit, concealed in sacks to deceive security agents. The Commandant of the Corps in Ogun State, Hameed Abodunrin said the arrest was made at about 3.20 am at Cele Bus Stop, Alagbole, in Ifo Local Government Area. He added that the 29 year-old suspect, Emmanuel Fregene was the driver of the truck with Lagos State number plate LSD – 04 XW and he was accosted by the Anti-Vandal unit of the NSCDC command. He confirmed that the driver has confessed to the crime and has mentioned the name of the person that lured him into the illicit business.

In a renewed effort to curb the menace of substandard and fake electrical cables in the country, Standards Organisation of Nigeria’s Surveillance, Intelligence and Monitoring (SIM) Unit has intercepted a syndicate specialising in the counterfeiting of genuine brands of made in Nigeria cables at the Alaba International Market, Lagos following a tip-off. The raid was done in collaboration with the Cable Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (CAMAN) and the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (CID). SON Intercepts N8 Billion Worth Fake Cables In Lagos

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, on Monday said it intercepted over N8 billion worth of substandard electric cables. The Director-General of SON, Osita Aboloma, who made this known said the cables are cloned versions of 20 popular Nigerian brands. According to the organisation, the cables were shipped into Nigeria from China and were discovered by the enforcement team of SON around two residential buildings in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos State. SON said the cables were imported by a certain Estobest Electrical Limited, which targeted and cloned Nigerian cables already certified by the agency in fraudulent packages.
