At least four persons have reportedly been killed in fresh attacks in Kagara community in Niger State. The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested five members of a kidnap syndicate, who allegedly killed their victim after collecting N5m ransom from his family. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted a lecturer with the Linguistics and Communications Department of the University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Jones Ajuwu. A student, Hauwa Kana, who was abducted by kidnappers in Nasarawa, Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has regained freedom after paying ransom. It was gathered that Kana, a 300 level Veterinary Medicine student of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto (UDUS) was  kidnapped on Saturday, January 18 around 3 noon, along Mararaba-Edege road on her way back to Nasarawa.
