₦40 Billion Allowance: ASUU Defends Sharing Formula, Varsity Workers Protest

Non-academic unions in universities and the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday differed on the Federal Government’s N40bn earned allowance for the institutions’ workers. While ASUU President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, in an interview with The PUNCH, justified the the amount promised lecturers out the N40bn, non-academic unions described the Federal Government’s sharing formula as illogical and a divide and rule tactic. The unions spoke as protests by non-academic staff over the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System and the N40bn earned allowance rocked university towns across the country on Tuesday. The Federal Government had, on December 22, as part of agreements reached with ASUU, promised to release N40bn earned allowance to universities. The academic...

‘We cannot suddenly decide to behave like Chelsea’ – Klopp defends Liverpool’s transfer policy

The German head coach has stressed the importance of sticking to a winning formula amid calls for reinforcements at Anfield Jurgen Klopp has defended Liverpool's transfer policy, insisting the club cannot suddenly decide to "behave like Chelsea" after gradually putting together a title-winning team. Liverpool stormed to their first league title in three decades last season, finishing 18 points clear of Manchester City after being crowned champions with a record-breaking seven games left to spare. After failing to win a single piece of silverware during his first three seasons at Anfield, Klopp has managed to deliver four trophies in the space of two years, including the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.

New Minimum Wage: Details Of New Adjustment Formula Agreed By FG, Labour

The Federal Government has finally reached an agreement on the adjustment formula for the implementation of the new minimum wage. We are now working on the communique,” Keyamo tweeted Thursday night. Mr Keyamo provided further infor...

Instagram Deletes Daddy Freeze Account

Instagram has deleted Daddy Freeze’s account, and the controversial OAP took to his second account to blame pastors for the act. According to Daddy Freeze, pastors are disturbed that his teachings are disrupting their earnings, hence they are always taking his account down. He also used the opportunity to throw shade on this set of people by calling them servants of their bellies. Daddy Freeze’s remark was scathing, biting and sarcastic. He wrote; We have definitely disturbed their business formula and disrupted their earnings, their god who is in their belly has been disgraced and they are raging. If not, why are they so desperate to shut me up? Even if they close all my social media accounts down and close down all the accounts of all #FreeNation members they still can...

United Looked To Have Got A Valuable Win

Whether it was by default or by design, Mourinho looked to have found an attacking formula to get a tune out of his side. A United win  had looked so unlikely, both before and during the match. Mourinho’s starting XI consisted of a front four of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata with a midfield two behind in Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. Despite criticisms of his ‘negative’ tactics, Mourinho has arguably been too attacking against United’s top six rivals at times but Chelsea were unnerved by the pressure on their defence and failed to settle in the opening stages.
