There was a fire outbreak at the Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters in Abuja today January 10. The Service disclosed this in a statement on its official Twitter handle this morning. According to the service, the fire affected some of the offices in the headquarters.   The tweet reads ''A fire incident occurred in our Service Headquarters this Morning. It affected some of our Offices. 2.The fire has been put out by our Federal Fire Station&support from other agencies around the Airport. 3.The cause of the fire is being investigated.We assure the public that the incident will not in any way affect the discharge of our services.''

10 newborn babies die in hospital fire, India

10 newborn babies have reportedly died in a fire outbreak at a state-run hospital in western India in the early hours of Saturday. 17 infants where in the unit for sick newborn babies when the fire broke out at the Bhandara District General Hospital in Maharashtra state. Seven infants died due to smoke suffocation, and three from burn injuries, Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope told reporters. Seven babies were rescued by the nurses and ward staff. All the infants were aged between a few days and three months, Bhandara district health official Prashant Uike said. Tragedy struck in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State today February 15th after three siblings, two boys and a girl between the ages of two months to five years, were burnt to death in a fire outbreak inside their parent's home. The Kaduna State Fire Service said on Wednesday that it recorded 523 fire outbreaks and 65 deaths in the state between January and December 2019.
