Fire Razes 23 Shops in Kwara Market

About 23 shops and goods believed to worth millions of Naira were destroyed in a fire incident yesterday March 17 at Owode market in Offa, Kwara State. The fire reportedly started by 1a.m, however the arrival of firefighters prevented the inferno from spreading to other shops and houses in the vicinity. The Head, Media and Publicity of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle who confirmed the incident said it is suspected an electric spark caused the incident. Seven Adults, two children Burnt in Fatal Accident in Ogun

No fewer than nine people, seven adults and two children were burnt to death after a commercial bus went up in flames while on motion, at Ijebu-Ife area, along Ore-Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu expressway today Thursday January 16th. A statement from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command,  said the 19-seater bus belonging to a transport company, was reportedly travelling from the Eastern part of the country to Lagos, before the unfortunate happened. Jimoh Ibrahim Loses Father Just Two Months After Losing Mother

Nigerian billionaire, Jimoh Ibrahim has lost his father barely two months after losing his mother to a fire accident. The father, Alhaji Yakubu Jimoh, died on Sunday in his hometown in Igbatokado, Ondo State. The source of his death is unknown. However, sources say it might not be in connected to the manner in which his wife died. His wife, Jimoh Ibrahim’s mother, died after her house was gutted by fire. 50 bodies were burnt beyond recognition in a fire incident that occurred at the mortuary section of Enugwu-Ukwu general hospital on Saturday, December 29th. According to reports, the fire started at about 3pm and before they could get through to the the fire service department, the three-room-morgue had been raised down. Delta Govt Hands Over Ogbeogonogo Market to Oshimili LGA

Delta State Government has formally transferred the ownership of Ogbeogonogo Modern Market to Oshimili South Local   Government Council. Speaking during the transfer ceremony in Asaba, the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr. David Edevbie, said the market was constructed by the state government a few years ago as one of the instruments to promote socio-economic activities of the area.
