5 dead, 2 Injured in Enugu Road Accident – FRSC

At least 5 people lost their lives and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu said the accident occurred on Friday, July 10, at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station. He said there were two injured people at the scene and FRSC officials took them to the hospital. He added that the accident was caused by wrong overtaking by a green Toyota Sienna. He said the wrong overtaking led to a head on collision with a truck loaded with fertiliser. All 5 occupants of the Toyota Sienna died. The driver of the truck and his conductor were the two injured people who were taken to the hospital.

According to reports emanating from South Korea, North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un has made his first public appearance in 20 days amid rumours that he could be dead. The 36 year old North Korean dictator, reportedly attended a project completion ceremony at a fertiliser factory in Sunchon, a city in South Pyongan Province, North Korea according to Yonhap, a South Korean paper.. The reports of Kim attending the ceremony originated from North Korean state media and haven't been verified by Western intelligence agencies or media agencies as North Korea only propagates information that favors the State. 33 Ships Laden With Petroleum Products, Food Items To Arrive Lagos Ports

Thirty three ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin Can Island Ports in Lagos from Jan. 29 to Feb. 19. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its publication, `Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday. It explained that seven of the expected 33 ships would sail in with petrol. NPA said that 26 other ships contain buck wheat, frozen fish, soya beans, rig, bulk fertiliser, bulk sugar, empty containers, diesel and containers laden with goods. The document indicated that six ships had arrived the ports waiting to berth with bulk fertiliser, containers, lubrication oil and petrol.

Nigeria To Revive Six Fertiliser Plants Soon

The Nigeria Government is to revive six fertilizer blending plants before the end of the year, through the Infrastructure Unit of its Sovereign Wealth Fund. The Managing Director of Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, Mr Uche Orji, said on Monday in Abuja when the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, paid him a working visit. Orji said that the six plants set for revival across the country would bring the total number of operational fertilizer blending plants to 17.
