Man Arrested With Loaded Gun and Fake Inauguration Credentials In Washington

A Virginia man has been arrested for allegedly trying to enter through a Washington DC checkpoint armed with a gun, 500 rounds of ammunition and fake credentials, according to a report. Wesley Allen Beeler, from Front Royal, Virginia, was arrested Friday evening as he tried to make his way through security checkpoints in downtown DC that have been erected ahead of Joe Biden's inauguration, CNN reported. The former Lagos state governor said this while reacting to a statement credited to him, in which he was alleged to have described Buhari as an ‘ethnic bigot’ and an ‘agent of destabilisation’, who ‘if given the chance would ensure the disintegration of the country”. Two Men Arrested With N45m Fake Notes in Abuja

Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested Badamasi Sule and Muhammad Muhammad, suspected money-doublers, for being in possession of counterfeit Naira notes totaling about N45million. The EFCC in a statement released, said the duo were arrested in December 2019, following actionable intelligence report which exposed a syndicate of fraudsters who specialize in printing fake N1,000 notes. They were also found to be in possession of fake $100 bills. Investigations further revealed that two “Ghana-must-go bags” in their possession containing the N1,000 notes were shortly to be put into circulation. Police Arrest Accomplices of a Pastor who Allegedly Pays people N3,000 to Fake Miracles

Pastor who allegedly hires people to stage miracles aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of his church, has been busted by the Lagos State Police. The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu who disclosed that the Pastor identified simply as Elijah is currently on the run, said  six people were arrested in connection with the fake miracles. The arrested suspects identified as Lawal Damilola (29), Makinde Folashade (49), Babayemi Joke (37), Precious Sunday (20), Victoria Emmanuel (42) and Gift Adams (42) aided Elijah in conducting fake miracles at Festac Town, Airport Road and Ikoyi. It was also learnt that the suspects all confessed to receiving N3,000 from the fake pastor to stage the fake miracles.

Ibrahim Mustapha: Fake Medical Doctor Jailed For 54 Years In Adamawa

A high court in Yola, Adamawa state capital, has sentenced Ibrahim Mustapha, a fake medical doctor, to 54 years in prison. In June, the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Mustapha, who was employed as a doctor in the state with forged medical certificates. The convict was the principal medical officer at the cottage hospitals in Mayo Belwa and Fufore, and had reportedly performed surgical operations on several patients since 2015. At least 15 patients were reported dead after Mustapha performed surgical operations on them. About 100 fake professors have been uncovered by the National Universities Commission (NUC) says the Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed. EFCC Targets Doctors Issuing Fake Medical Reports

The Economic and Finance Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it will extend its investigation to doctors that issue fake medical reports to those facing prosecution for alleged economic and financial crimes. Acting Chairman of the commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, disclosed this at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja on Friday. “We will extend our investigation to doctors who connive with criminals and give them a fake medical report. We have to go after them and fight them. “Those facing corrupt allegations go as far as getting fake reports from abroad. So, the practice of giving fake medical report must stop,” Magu, who also said that most of the corruption cases were not properly reported during prosecution, urged journalists to help in fighting corruption in the country. ...
