In order to reduce the impact of inflation on Nigerians, the Buhari administration, is, through the 2020 Finance Bill, proposing the exemption of minimum wage earners from Personal Income Tax. This is even as the President Muhammadu Buhari administration tried to justify the reduction of import duties on cars, saying the government will buy locally assembled vehicles. IGP Adamu Exempts Doctors, Journalists, Nurses From Curfew

IGP Mohammed Adamu Abubakar last night rescinded his order on essential workers, including journalists and doctors. He exempted them from the 8pm to 6am nationwide curfew. The police boss had said that no essential workers will be granted passage during the curfew, an order that negated President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that journalists, doctors and others on essential duty should be allowed a free pass. A source confided in our correspondent on Tuesday that the US Government threatened to stop issuance of entry visas to Nigerians if the policy was not immediately reversed for its citizens. Barely a month after the Nigerian Government introduced the $110 biometrics and service charge through the Nigeria Immigration Service, the authorities have now exempted the citizens of United States of America from the policy. The government had in January reintroduced the $90 biometrics charge and $20 service charge for all foreigners travelling into Nigeria. President Donald Trump Signs New Travel Ban, Exempts Iraq

The order will make clear that lawful permanent residents are excluded from any travel ban President Donald Trump signed a new executive order Monday banning immigration from six Muslim-majority countries, notably dropping Iraq from January's previous order. The new travel ban comes six weeks after Trump's original executive order was rolled out to chaos and confusion at airports nationwide, and eventually blocked by a federal court. The ban covers Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
