#RevolutionNow: DSS Seeks Permission To Detain Sowore For 90 More Days

The Department of State Services (DSS) has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja to seek permission to detain the convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, for 90 more days pending the conclusion of its investigation. Justice Taiwo Taiwo, however, adjourned until Thursday for ruling, as he said he needed time to examine the exhibits filed along with the application, which include two copies of DVD. Sowore was arrested in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos, on account of the #RevolutionNow protest which he had spearheaded.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has re-arrested another inmate that fled from the Ikot Ekpene Prison in Akwa-Ibom State, few weeks ago. He was handed over to the prison authority on December 31. The prisoners had on December 27 last year attacked the prison’s kitchen staff that and seized an axe from fellow inmate attached to the kitchen and inflicted a deep cut on the inmates’ head before escaping from the facility.
