Protest Reported Following the Death of Four Ibadan Residents by Customs Officers

About four people were, on Tuesday, allegedly killed by Customs officers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Residents of the area gave two different narratives of the incident. While some said the victims were killed when a seized truck controlled by Customs officers hit road users, others said the victims were shot during a protest following the truck accident. WotzupNG gathered that the protest occurred opposite the NCS barracks in Ijokodo area of Ibadan. The barracks is located along the Ijokodo- Apete Road. Witnesses said chaos started when some Customs officers seized a trailer carrying prohibited items into the country. Photos: Customs Arrest Man With $375,000 ‘N135m’ At Kaduna International Airport

The Nigeria Customs Service on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, handed over the sum of 375,000 USD (Three Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand United States Dollar) and one Adamu Rabiu Muhammad with passport number A50280997 to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal office. The suspect, a business man from Kano was intercepted at the international wing of the Kaduna International airport, traveling on board ET941 Ethiopian Airline to Dubai on a business trip. A team of Custom officers on patrol, led by CSC Medugu Y.D. apprehended the suspect on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at about 12:22hrs.
