BUA Donates Additional ₦350 Million To CACOVID

BUA Group has donated an additional sum of 350million Naira to CACOVID (the CBN-led Private Sector Coalition on Covid-19) bringing to 1.35billion Naira, its total donation to CACOVID. In another development, BUA also announced the donation of 100million Naira to the Kebbi State Government to support victims of the recent flooding in the State. A Federal High Court in Benin City has restrained Dangote Industries and the Nigerian Police Force from interfering with BUA Group’s operations of the disputed Okpella mining sites in Okpella, Edo State in a judgement it delivered recently. BUA Group Tackles Edo Govt For Sealing Mining Site, Arresting Staff

Cement firm, BUA Group, has accused Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, of shutting it out of operation in one of its mining sites in the state. A statement by the corporate department of the firm, Wednesday, also alleged the arrest of two of the company’s staff during Mr. Obaseki’s visit to the site, located in Obu-Okpella. Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo state, has ordered the arrest of two employees of BUA International Limited over alleged violation of a ‘stop work order’ issued by the ministry of mines and steel. The order was given due to a dispute involving BUA and Dangote Group on the ownership of Obu mine site located in the state.
