DSS Arrests Student Over Anti-Buhari Articles

Human rights lawyer , Mr Inibehe Effiong, says the Department of State Services has arrested his client who is also a campus journalist , Ayoola Babalola, for allegedly publishing articles critical of the President, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari ( retd. ) , and All Progressives Congress chieftain , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Effiong made the allegation during a chat with Sunday PUNCH . He explained that Babalola , a student of Mass Communications at Gateway Polytechnic , Abeokuta , was the editor of a campus newspaper known as “ GAMPOSA Trumpet”. DSS Arrest and Detain Journalist for Publishing Articles Criticizing Buhari, Tinubu and EFCC

A journalist, Ayoola Babalola, has been allegedly arrested by officials of the Department of State Services, for allegedly publishing articles criticising President Buhari's administration and also the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu as well as the EFCC. Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who is the legal representative of Babalola, made this known in a statement he released on social media. According to the lawyer, Babalola was arrested on Thursday January 23rd and arraigned before the Magistrate court Abeokuta on Friday January 24th and later remanded in the Ibara Mximum prison Abeokuta. DSS Invites Campus Journalist For Publishing Content On Sowore, School Demotes Supervising Lecturer

The Department of State Services has invited editor of a campus newspaper at Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Ogun State, Ayoola Babalola, for interrogation over the publication of certain contents on Omoyele Sowore. The campus newspaper had recently published articles demanding good governance and obedience to rule of law in Nigeria. Some of the articles published include: 'Will EFCC investigate Chief Bola Tinubu?', 'Sowore: An equal opportunity offender', and 'President Buhari does not believe in Nigeria'.
