EFCC Arrests 11 Suspected Internet Fraudsters With 12 Cars In Osun

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Friday, January 22, 2021 arrested eleven suspected fraudsters. They were apprehended by operatives of the Commission who, acting on intelligence, swooped on their hideouts in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. The Commission recovered twelve cars which include three Toyota Highlander SUVs, one Mercedes Benz GLK 350 SUV, One Acura SUV, two Honda Crosstour, two Toyota Venza and three other Toyota brands. Also recovered are phones, laptops and other devices. The suspects, who variously claimed to be students, artisans, farmers and businessmen, are currently undergoing interrogation to ascertain their level of involvement in the alleged crime. FG Begins Payment Of N30,000 Grants To Artisans

The Presidency on Tuesday said the payment of N30,000 one-time grant to 330,000 artisans across the country under the Economic Sustainability Plan has commenced. The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement titled “Payment of N30,000 grants to 330,000 artisans under ESP begins.” Akande said the payments were being made to sets of verified beneficiaries of the Artisan Support Scheme, a track under the MSMEs Survival Fund. FG Planning To Pay Private School Teachers, Artisans – Osinbajo

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said on Thursday that the Federal Government was creating a “payroll support” for private schoolteachers and artisans to cushion the untoward economic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on them. He added that the Federal Government had secured land in 11 states of the federation to build thousands of two-bedroom apartments for Nigerians at the cost of N2m each. The National Coordinator, Nigeria Sex Workers Association, Amaka Enemo, says s3x workers in the country have been forced to suspend activities, especially in Lagos and Abuja, due to the lockdown to check the spread of COVID-19. The suspects were arrested in a bush at Umuhutte Ahiaeke Ibeku in the Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state during their initiation ceremony. Policemen attached to the Abia State Commissioner of Police Crack Squad have arrested 22 suspected cult members.
