Abuja Court Reinstates Pondei-led NDDC Interim Management

A Federal High Court in Abuja has reinstated the interim management committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) led by Prof. Daniel Pondei. In a judgement that struck out the lawsuit against the IMC by the Incorporated Trustees of Forum for Accountability and Good Governance on January 13, 2021, the court denied ever sacking the Pondei-led IMC. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had on December 12, 2020 directed the NDDC IMC to step aside for an interim sole administrator to take over the affairs of the interventionist agency on the strength of the purported court injunction against the Podei-led IMC. Soldiers take over scene of planned #EndSARS protest in Abuja

Soldiers have reportedly taken over the scene of the planned #EndSARS protest in Abuja.   Some soldiers were spotted at popular Aya roundabout early Monday morning with a roadblock and barricade. There were also police officers stationed in front of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters with Armoured Personnel Carrier and water cannons.   This is coming after Nigerian army's spokesperson, Sagir Musa denied claims of the recently launched  ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’  being targeted at #EndSARS protesters.   Here are photos below;

Nigerian Twitter users have taken to the social media space to mourn a Nigerian man, Anthony Onome Unuode, who died on Sunday October 18, after he was allegedly stabbed by hoodlums who attacked #EndSARS protesters in Kubwa, Abuja on Saturday, October 17.   A Twitter user @ree_vigilus, shared the sad news of Anthony's demise. ''This is my friend Anthony Onome Unuode! He has been very active with this protest #EndSARS for a week now! He was stabbed by thugs yesterday at Kubwa Abuja, during the protest! He died today! We can’t stop now!''   Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express their shock and sadness at the news of his demise. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Angry Nigerians protesting the continued harassment and intimidation of citizens by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad has vowed not to leave the premises of Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja until the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, addressed them.
