Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar could be set for a return to France with reports that Stade Rennais are interested in bringing him back to Ligue 1.
The forward, who is primarily owned by FC Porto, was on loan to Besiktas where he impressed with 19 goals last season. Christian Gourcuff is reported to have made tracking Aboubakar a priority as he wants the 25-year-old to lead his attack once again having done so during their time at Lorient prior to Aboubakar’s move to Porto.
Aboubakar is contracted to Porto until June 2018 but Besiktas are rumoured to be also looking for a way to keep him permanently after helping them clinch the Super Lig title.
His winning goal at the Africa Cup of Nations in January qualified Hugo Broos’ men for the Fifa Confederations Cup which is currently underway in Russia.
Goal reports that the Les Rouges et Noirs are looking to add another African, Ismaila Sar, to their roster.
The Senegalese international excelled in his debut top-flight season last campaign despite only signing his first professional contract last summer, scoring five goals in 31 appearances.
The 18-year-old tied himself to Metz for five years, so it will cost a fortune to lure him away from Les Grenats.
Lille, Celtic and Premier League duo Watford and Newcastle United also reported to be interested in Sar.
