Police Rescues Kidnapped Female Doctor In Cross River

Dr. Emem Moses Udoh of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, UCTH, Calabar who was kidnapped four days (Tuesday) ago has regained her freedom.

She was taken captive in the early hours of Tuesday, 9th January, 2018 by unknown armed men to an undisclosed destination.

Her property including; Vehicle, TV set and mobile phones were forcefully taken along with her, leaving behind her eighteen (18) months old baby in the care of her little niece living with her.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Ms Irene Ugbo said, “Just as the Commissioner of Police said, he promised the medical doctors that he will be on his toes to arrest the kidnappers and rescue the victim.

“The Commissioner is a man of his words and immediately deployed men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, anti-cultists and anti-kidnapping. They went into action and arrested some suspects that led to the trail of the kidnappers.

“For now, investigation is still going on. The woman was rescued alive, with no injuries.

”She was rescued yesterday evening. There was no ransom. She was rescued by the police. Some suspects are in custody.”
