‘Once a Gunner, always a Gunner’ – Nwankwo Kanu wishes Everton’s Alex Iwobi luck

With Iwobi joining the Toffees, the Arsenal legend affirmed that he would be rooting for him to succeed at Goodison Park.
Nwankwo Kanu has wished Alex Iwobi good luck following the 23-year-old’s move from Arsenal to Everton.Iwobi agreed a five-year contract with Marco Silva’s men in a deal worth £40 million ($49m) that was disclosed on Thursday.

The Nigeria international has been a Gunner since joining the academy 15 years ago. Thanks to Arsene Wenger, he came through the ranks and made his senior team bow on October 2015.

He went on to make 148 appearances, scoring 15 goals winning one FA Cup and two FA Community Shields in the process.

Kanu, a club legend was among those to use social media to bid farewell to the departing forward, and claimed he would be supporting him.

“Once a Gunner, always a Gunner. We are proud of you Alex Iwobi and will continue to support you. Good luck with your new club,” he tweeted.

Photos From The Ikogosi 10km Marathon Race In Ekiti

The maiden edition of Ikogosi Marathon race will kick off this morning in Ekiti State.

No fewer than 2000 athletes have registered for the 10km race which covers Aramoko to Ikogosi, home of world wonder Ikogosi warm spring.

The State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi will flag off the race at the starting point at Aramoko Ekiti.

There are indications that the governor may also participate in the race as he has been exercising for some days ahead of the event.

The race is in three categories. Category one is for international athletes; category two is for local athletes while the third category is for women athletes.

Sadio Mane named Premier League Player of the Month

Sadio Mane was today named Premier League Player of the Month for November.

The Liverpool forward was in outstanding form to help his team win all four of their matches and establish an eight-point lead at the summit.

Mane set up an equaliser and headed home a winner as the Reds came from a goal down to beat Aston Villa, then provided the third strike in the 3-1 Anfield victory over Manchester City.

He was on the scoresheet again when Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-1 away from home and, as he had in the previous three games, played every minute of the win against Brighton and Hove Albion by the same scoreline.

It is the third time Mane has won Player of the Month, following August 2017 and March 2019.
